Re: HHC/WLC Week 7 Wrap-up

  • 1. What did you make? How was it? Captain Crunch Chicken (a la Planet Hollywood) and Bloomin Onion (a la Outback). Both were fab. I did them together so it felt like a very naughty stuff-your-face dinner... but it wasn't.

    2. How are you feeling going into the home stretch? What are you most proud of this summer? Panicy, actually. I don't really want summer to be over. Even though we've been challenging for a while, I feel like I'm finally getting into a groove of consistant calories and nutrients so that's a good thing.

    3. Should we do a Fall challenge? Ideas? Yes. I'm actually kicking around the idea of re-starting the C25K once it's not crazy hot... maybe that could be a sub challenge like the 30DS is now?

LOVE this idea!!  I had already chosen this to be my next 90-day challenge (figuring if I only get to do it two days a week some weeks, I will finish it at least by the 90 days are up, even though it should take less than 65 if done right lol) and I would love love love to have people doing it with me!!  That doesn't seem like enough for my challenge so I might add in a water challenge (at least 3 glasses a day) but we'll see. :)

    1. What did you make? How was it?  I had been looking to re-make a dessert, like a lava cake or something, but kind of ran out of time.

    2. How are you feeling going into the home stretch? What are you most proud of this summer?  I am feeling pretty good.  The local hospital and Y had offered a wellness program at my school earlier this year.  They did 8 weeks of classes, and also monitored weight, body fat, blood pressure, and did blood tests (for cholesterol, blood sugar, etc).  The initial screening was in January and then they tested again at the end of the program.  Well, the final re-test is this Monday.  I am curious to see how my levels/numbers look after the summer.

I am proud of staying active over the summer, especially going to spin class at 8am on Fridays (so early!!!).

    3. Should we do a Fall challenge? Ideas? I'd be up for a fall challenge.  I have a couple races I'd like to run so I feel a majority of my workouts will be running, but I also need to keep up with weight training and yoga (and maybe challenge myself to make the effort to mix in a few other types of workouts).  I also probably need a reminder to eat more veggies and protein.

  • 1. What did you make? How was it? I'm a slacker and didn't make anything. I completely forgot until yesterday! I have been makign stir fry with a pretty light sesame sauce instead of ordering out lately... does that count? lol

    2. How are you feeling going into the home stretch? What are you most proud of this summer? I'm not pleased with my results this week, but over all I feel pretty good about it. I'm most proud of my running time improvements over the summer. The treadmill isn't so bad and I actually set a new personal best yesterday on my 3 miler.

    3. Should we do a Fall challenge? Ideas? I don't know if I'm up for a WLC in the fall. Weighing in each week isn't really doing me any favors. I feel great and see a difference in the way my clothes fit, but seeing a plus on the scale is able to completely ruin any positive feelings I may have about the week as a whole. I feel that, for me, consistantly weighing in isn't beneficial for the overall journey.

The C25K challenge sounds great though! I strongly encourage those interested to give it a go. I'm hoping to enter some races in the fall so we can all encourage each other to keep training. :)

  • I just realized I never answered...oops!

    1. What did you make? How was it? I made Pasta Primavera with Chicken. It is on the blog. It was delicious!

    2. How are you feeling going into the home stretch? What are you most proud of this summer? I'm feeling meh...Happy for my loss and increase in fitness level..still unattractive and not happy with my appearance.

    3. Should we do a Fall challenge? Ideas? Maybe just planned eating and exercise and "Fit Friday" or something...more of a checkin than challenge? We could be workout buddies.
