The Name of the Wind---Have you read it?

Okay so I just completed the book and I am a bit mad at myself. I had no idea that it was going to be a trilogy. The book is almost 700 pages long and a lot of things happen but at the same time nothing really happens. I dont know if I really want to read two more books just to find out how the stroy ends.

Did you guys like the book?

Re: The Name of the Wind---Have you read it?

  • LOVED it and cannot wait for the next two. I started Game of Thrones to tide me over until then. I will have three unfinished series going now - The Kingkiller Trilogy, A Story of Ice and Fire and the Outlander series. God help me but I love them all. I am a sucker for historical science fiction//fantasy apparently!
  • Do you like Game of Thrones better?

  • I don't think so... they're very different, oddly enough, even though they're pretty similar in terms of people who'd like one should like the other. But, I do find I was up later at night reading Name of the Wind than I am with GoT. That said, I'm on the second book now and I've read that its the least favorite for most people out of that series. The third one is supposed to be the best, though, so I'm excited to start that one.

I did find Kingkiller a bit easier to get invovled in becuase it was a much smaller group of characters. There are sooo many in GoT that it can be hard to keep track sometimes.

  • I've read it. I liked it. The second one in the series just came out a few months ago.
  • Yes.  Love it.  Have read the two that are out and I can't wait for the third.  He's a very talented storyteller.
I like pineapples...they make life just so much more interesting.
  • I'm always looking for something good to read, and this was the first I've heard of the series. I just picked this up on my nook after seeing comparisons to GoT, looking forward to starting it!
