random q: farmers markets bouquets
I don't know if this is just me, but every time I get flowers from the farmers market they end up smelling like azz within a few days and then a week later it seriously smells like rotten shiz.
I trim the ends as soon as I get them home and put them in clean water. I admit I don't change the water bc after a few days I just want to run by them and not linger long enough to smell the awful smell.
Does this happen to anyone else? Is there anything that I can do to make it not smell?
Re: random q: farmers markets bouquets
yes.. it happens. i agree it is probably the leaves and stuff in the water.
i'm willing to test this for you though if you want to buy me a bouquet of flowers. i could really use one today.
this. everything. exactly.

oh i'm not having a bad day or anything...but i could always use more flowers. i prefer getting flowers when i'm happy. when i'm sad, flowers make me feel dumb for being sad.

I always bring the bouquets home and completely strip the leaves and anything else that would be in the water. I also put a drop of bleach in the water, which doesn't hurt the flowers but helps keep gross smelly bacteria from growing in it.
And awww: when I got home from the airport last Monday, my H had a big bouquet of gorgeous flowers from the Ballard Farmer's market for me. He rarely buys me flowers, it was such an adorable and thoughtful treat! Too bad it was half potent smelling lilies that I'm SUPER allergic to (instant headache), but after a day we realized they were too crazy strong so I took them out of the arrangement and brought them to our neighbor who is a single older lady, and it brightened her day
