Re: Loan company experiences

  • We have our loan with Bank of America.  We were very happy initially, but this last week (we close tomorrow) has been a nightmare.  They needed changes on the appraisal (that Their peopled did) and the contract (which they had for 4 weeks) done yesterday.  They offer something called a "clarity commitment" that we got 3 weeks ago detailing everything about our loan, on that it said we had an escrow account like we had requested.  We found out last night at 7pm that we do not have an escrow account...wtf?

  • We ended up using Guaranteed Rate.  Our LO was very easy to work with and very accessible, always able to answer questions.  I would easily recommend them to other people.  They sell every mortgage after closing and before your first payment is due and ours got sold to Wells Fargo and no real feelings either way.  We haven't had any issues but we've also had no need to really contact them so I don't know about their customer service.
    We had also looked at Chase and they were pretty easy to work with during the application process but we were able to find a better rate elsewhere.

  • We went BoA and it was a nightmare the entire time.  I thought since we have all of our accounts with them it would be easier - they could look up our info see our past statements etc but no it was just the opposite.

    We did get a good rate with them but based on the service and how often they lost documents (that were emailed) for the next house we won't use them.

  • Thanks for the feed back!  I guess I'll be staying away from BOA. I have my accounts with them also, so I was thinking that might be the better way to go from what it sounds like the customer service sucks. Not really what I'm looking for.

  • We used NACA as our mortgage program.  Complete pain in the butt, but our rate is 1.9%, so it was worth it.  Citibank, the actual provider of funds, was pretty awesome too.  I called Executive Customer Service a few times when there were delays in the loan, and the folks were super helpful.

    VOTE on my Name List

  • This is my first home, so maybe it's always like this and I just didn't know what I was getting into;

    BUT - we've had a terrible time with Chase.  If I were to get a do-over, they would be at the bottom of my list.  Our loan processor was unresponsive and totally inept.  It would take her over a week to respond to an email.  We had to submit our paperwork multiple times, and are still getting requests for documents that Chase has had for over 5 weeks and that I have sent to them several times already.   We also are going to miss our closing.  By the time we actually are able to close it will have taken over 2 months to complete the sale - not even a short sale.  They are bumbling fools over there.

    COMPLETELY agree!!! Chase has been horrible for us too! Our closing date was originally June 30th, it is now August 13th and we don't even have a new closing date. They messed up our paperwork causing our rate to increase. They are terrible at giving updates or explaining things. We have also had to send over the same documents multiple times. UHH I can not say enough bad things about them. REALLY wish we would have chose someone else, but thought it would be easiest since our bank accounts were already with them.
