Happy 1st Anniversary 8/14 Nesties!

YAE! We are here! Congratulations on what was hopefully a wonderful first year of marriage! Some say the the first year is the most difficult, and this year has been challenging for us (lots of family drama and health issues...). But we are happy and healthy and looking forward to leaving in a few hours to go on our anniversary get-away!

We had a nice dinner out last night and then topped it off with some champagne and watching our ceremony video! So wonderful!

I've got to finish cleaning up for our 'house/dog-sitter' (one of my BFFs!) and so I had better run...hope all the 8/14/ brides are having a fantastic anniversary weekend! xo

  • Happy Anniversary, ladies! I hope you are enjoying time with your DH's today!
  • Happy Anniversary to all of us :)

DH and I went to the Lake George for the whole weekend. The trip was amazing and we really got to enjoy our time alone from everyone we know. It was fantastic :)

  • Happy Anniversary to us!  DH and I live very close to Nashville, so we didn't venture far from home.  DH surprised me with a trip to a botanical garden and art museum -- my two favorite things to do.  I got to see a spectacular Andy Warhol exhibit.  We ate dinner in town and it was wonderful.  Low key and perfectly us!  Hope everyone else had a great anniversary and to 8/21 and 8/28 brides, have a wonderful 1 year!

  • We spent the weekend in Buffalo for my dad's parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We had a big party that was kind of like a mini reunion and I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen since our wedding. My grandparents made sure everyone knew that our anniversary was coming up so everyone was congratulating us.

Driving home 4 hours in the torrential downpour wasn't so much fun, but when we got home DH went to the store and got little odds and ends for us for dinner.  We ate some of the top layer of our wedding cake, which was still just as good as it was our wedding day. We drank the champagne that was part of our honeymoon suite the night of the wedding that we were too tired to drink then and watched some movies on netflix.

  • We survived! woop woop!

DH and I celebrated with my Dad and his family at the place we had our rehearsal dinner. The day prior to that I hosted my BFF's shower and bachelorette party, the week prior to that we hung out in Boston (and had a spa day...omg spaaaaaaa). The weekend prior to that I ran another half marathon. It was a fun and insanely hectic celebration!
