Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

Screw you, rainstorm.

It's monsooning here.  Rain started around 1am and hasn't stopped and isn't due to stop until tomorrow afternoon/evening.  It's bad.  My beautifully mulched and landscaped backyard is basically a lake.  DH and I just spent an hour moving water away from the house, but we're worried.  We're slightly elevated, but the way this water is going it makes us both anxious.

It'll take a few days for the water to clear and then we're going to have to get the lawn taken care of, the beds re-mulched, and we're going to have to spray for bugs, because hello, mosquito city, and pray that we can get everything back to where we were.  Not cheap either.

Please cross your fingers for us.  We're only 1/3 of the way through the storm and it's not going to get better from here.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

Re: Screw you, rainstorm.

  • We have been getting the same storm.  We've gotten more than 2 1/2 inches of rain since last night.  Since we are further south, the rain is finally starting to slow down.

I hope everything is alright with your backyard and home!

The "joys" of home-ownership! Hopefully being elevated will help you!
