Facebook Funny re: wedding

Last night in the drinking post I mentioned the wedding I'm going to today. I went and did a little Facebook searching, and found this on the Facebook event that was created for their wedding.(written by the bride to be)

"whoever keeps inviting random people to my wedding, please stop. as embarrassing as it was to even be in the same class as many people from Oyster River, it's even more embarrassing to see that they've taken the time to deny coming to my wedding. If you want someone there - please ask. thanks."

So don't make your wedding a public Facebook event?

  • Hahahahahahaha. Let's treat the wedding as if it's a five year old's birthday party.

We were picking out the card for their gift, and DH saw some cookie monster birthday cards and said we should get one of those. But they're gonna be fine, they met on Facebook earlier this year.

Same here, the girl was a family friend and a couple months over 18 and still in high school. I didn't attend.

Ha! No. They were some typical DIY (B- for the effort, but definitely not very well planned out) ones.

We survived the ordeal. They really seemed so young, so wet behind the ears. I know that the Chaplain was only trying to find appropriate things to say, but it really didn't help me at all that he spent so much time explaining that the young couple is now under the guidance of everyone around them and that it's now our job to guide them through life and help them stay married. He practically said that it takes a village to raise a child married couple.

I really really do wish them the best. I'm just horribly worried that they have no idea what they're getting into and that they didn't give themselves enough time before making their decision.

  • Haa that is the funniest thing! I have seen a lot of facebook invites.  I myself have been invited to a facebook baby shower.

Invite reads "my baby shower is the 12th.  come if you want!  bring a gift if you, we are at walmart. thanks"

Wow doesn't that make you feel like you are really wanted.  Yes, the invite was sent out by the mommy to be.

  • So, FI and I couldn't find a chaplain who wouldn't quote Ephesians 5 at us, but they'll marry children. Crying
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

It was a university chaplain. Does that help you any? It was funny cause other guys in the dept. were there sitting in the row behind DH. And one of them goes "Chop! Are you ready for your little boy to get married?" The thing is DH counseled the guy, practically begged him not to get married so soon.
