Know of any photographers doing mini-sessions this fall?
Hi all,
We are looking for a photographer that is doing mini sessions (or something like that) this fall. I am hoping to get a few pro photos of the fam for our Christmas cards. Anyways, if you have anyone that you would recommend, I would really appreciate it.

Nicole is awesome! Last year she also did a Xmas mini-sesssion in late Oct, early November (I think) where she sets up a tree in her house etc, but fall pics would be nice too!

To follow-up on Rags' rave, we did one of Jen Lowe's mini Fall sessions last year and were absolutely thrilled with the results. Here's a link to all of the photos - as you can see there are quite a few images for a 30 minute session, and each of those was edited by Jen.
I received all of the files on DVD as well as 4x6 prints of each image. The fact that she includes the files and rights to print as you see fit is one of the things I love about Jen (after her sheer talent and what a delightful person she is). So many photographers charge a fortune for the images - that's such a turn-off for me.
LLHR - Do you remember how much your fall mini session was with J. Lowe?
I wish I did - I believe it was right around $200? I'm emailing her about something else, so I can see if she has prices figured for this year's session, or at least a ballpark that I can pass on to you.

I read that they plan on running a special through October and Early November for holiday photos.
There is a ton of great photographers in the area and I think you can?t go wrong with most of them. I don?t usually do mini sessions but my full session in studio is 150 including digital negatives.
I think you get the negatives with most photographers. That?s what I hate about places like Picture people.. they lure you in with a coupon but in the end you get 3 poses and have to pay a gazillion dollars for a few prints
Bumping this thread back up - Jen Lowe announced her Fall Mini Sessions today. Here are the details as well as a link to the flyer on her Facebook page. Note that while she'd originally told me that sessions would be $225, they actually start at $200 for 5 family members or fewer.

All Mini Sessions Include the following goodies:
- A 30 minute session at specified location for up to 5 family members**.
- One complete set of 4X6 prints (a min. of 20 images, but not limited to.)
- One CD of your high resolution images with unlimited reprint rights.

we did Gail's mini-session last year.
My only issue is that you don't get a disk w/ images and you ahve to pay per print. I think last year, the session included 25 cards which was nice.
That's one of the huge draws for Jen Lowe for me, aside from the fact that I prefer her photography. I hate photographers who charge an arm and a leg for the disk with images (no offense to Gail - it's fairly common).
I'm probably not doing pictures this year. I need a new stove more than I need pictures of Kira.
