Anyone remember me?

HI, I haven't been on in these last couple of months. I am living in Christchurch, New Zealand and thought I would jump back on here and say hi! I am stuck indoors today as we are in the middle of a snowstorm, so plan on doing some scrapbooking and drinking lots of hot chocolate.

  • Snow in New Zealand, whoda thunk it?!  Welcome back.

How's Christchurch doing all these months after the quake?

  • Things have been in limbo although the demolition work is continuing in the central city. The suburbs have been divided into three zones; green (OK to live on and houses will be repaired or rebuilt) orange ( decision has yet to be made) and red (land not OK, houses will be demolished and land will not be used for residential or commercial purposes). We are in the green zone so we feel pretty lucky. My husband has set up shop in another location and is finiding it really quiet as he has lost a lot of walk in customers.

We had snow two weeks ago and hadn't had it since 2008 before then, so it is quite exciting! Some people are callin it "the icing on the quake".

  • I remember you, fellow kiwi!  I hope you are staying warm.  We are in Wellington and we have snow covering our ground this morning too!  It's really unusual for us.  I am glad you are planning to drink lots of hot choccie today :)  Hope to see you around more often.
  • I remember you.  Welcome back.

  • I remember you too. I can't believe all that your city has been through. 'Icing on the quake' is a good one though.
  • Thanks for the warm re-welcome and especially hi to Katrina, yay a fellow NZer on the boards. Have you lived in NZ all your life or are you originally from somewehere else?

It is lovely to be back, now that my son is having regular two hour afternoon naps I hope to be able to pop in more after the housework, crafty things etc have been sorted. I have been catching up on my scrapbooking today, which is good for me as I make albums for a living!
