Im over thinking the Glee movie. (some spoilers)

Did anyone else see it this weekend?  I love love loved it, but after the fact Im overanalyzing it.

Rachel was not in a lot of the numbers, where was she?  If it was supposed to be the characters from the show, then she and Finn have NO chemistry on stage.  It was like they didn't even know each other.  That bothered me.

Some of the characters, Tina, Lauren, and Mercedes and even Kurt that I remember, got practically no face time off the stage.  Why the hate?

I liked the side stories, but at the same time I felt like they took away from the performance.  I get why they used the girl obsessed with Brittany, but I feel like they could've focused on a better show character.  Maybe not a better character, but a more show centered character. KWIM?

I thought the theater would be packed, but it was not at all.  All in all, it was extremely entertaining and Im glad they did it since the tour was so limited, but now out of the theater Im wishing it had been more.

What did you think?

Re: Im over thinking the Glee movie. (some spoilers)

  • I loved it! I didn't want it to end. The mini-Warbler kid was so cute.

I didn't really think about who had more stage time - I did like that it seemed almost everyone got a song (who had songs during the show). I do wonder how many more songs are in the concert that they didn't show.

  • I loved the movie it was great. the side stories were good. I also thought the little warbler kid was cute and my hubby couldn't stop laughing.
  • DH and I really enjoyed it. I agree that the side stories were kind of lame and pointless, I wanted more behind the scenes with Glee! DH's jaw dropped with Brittney's song, I looked over and said "dang her boobs do look good!" Haha. I liked that they each got a song, I don't remember Mercedes from the show though. Our theater was really empty too which surprised me but DH wasn't surprised he said. Our friends made fun of us for going to but I don't care cause I love Glee and it was a blast.

  • I hated it actually. I guess because I saw the concert already (the one that was filmed actually).

I think the side stories were corny. It's not what I paid to see. I guess I was just under the impression that there would be more backstage content rather than just playing the performances. I thought we would see them warming up, playing around, traveling, being interviewed (as themselves). I was disappointed.
