real estate agent ignoring phone calls!
I am closing on my first home on August 23 and it has an in ground pool. The sellers moved out of country and have been gone for about a month now and the pool has still been running and kept up with chlorine tabs. We went over to check last week and the breaker to the pool pump was turned off and now we are worried it will get very dirty and hard to get back to normal once we move in. We have called our real estate agent a lot of times over the weekend and he has yet to return our call about the situation to turn the pump back on. I don't know what to do, should we call the seller's agent to ask to turn the pump back on?
Re: real estate agent ignoring phone calls!
Is your agent a one-man operation or does he work at an office with other realtors?
If he works at an office, call the main office line talk to the receptionist. She'll be able to tell you if your realtor is around (or on vacation, etc), will track down your realtor if he is around, or will direct your question to another realtor.
Don't call the sellers realtor directly... ever. They work for the sellers, not you. In fact, in some states that can cause a major contract issue.
