Need Dinner Ideas...

We are having our friends over on Saturday night. Last time they were over I did burgers on the grill and corn and potato salad and beans. C, their 3 year old DD wouldn't eat anything. I felt awful. N had said she eats pretty much anything and then wouldn't eat anything I made.

So if you can give me kid friendly dinner ideas that adults would like too I would really appericate it.

  • Dress your own dogs!  You could get beef hot dogs (like Nathan's or Kosher's Best), and set out dishes of pickle spears, relish, deli mustard, celery salt, onions, tomatoes, ketchup, and whatever else people like on hot dogs.

Stan and I love hot dogs, so if your guests don't like that idea, we'll come over.

All the more appropriate when I own a "wienie dog"! I might just do that!  And then do homemade mac and cheese as a side with some veggies. Then at least if C won't eat a hot dog she will eat something.

  • Whenever kids are around, I make Mac N Cheese. That seems to work with whatever I make anyway, and I havent met a kid yet that doesnt love Mac'N Cheese. :-)

  • I think hot dogs are a safe bet.  I would also do some cut up fruit and veggies.  My kids tend to eat more raw veggies then they cooked veggies.  They usually like low fat ranch.  I've tried to get them to eat hummus but they hate it.

Thank you! I think I'll do some watermelon and as far as veggies I'll do broccoli and carrots.
