i just finished reupholstering my first chair PIP

phew!  i made it more time consuming than it had to be (i did custom cording and i tried to make things perfectly centered and symetrical), and it's far from perfect, but overall i'm pleased with it.  It's my SIL's great-grandmothers old chair that she will be using in her nursery.  I plan to present it to her at her baby shower next month.  It will be her seat-of-honor i guess.

Thanks for the bigger pic; I was hoping to see it larger.  Love that fabric.  Did you use any tutorials to do this or just figure it out on your own?  And were the legs already like that and the skirt was just covering them up?

i used a GREAT tutorial for the cording and cushion, and a separate one for installing the buttons (there are 5 but they are hard to see).  Links below.  For the actual chair I looked at several "how to's", mostly for wing-back chairs (wingbacks were the closest thing i could find to this chair) and used the general knowledge they all offered.

My SIL is unsure if she wants a skirt on this chair or not so I went ahead and did not do one.  I figure if once she sees the chair she decides she wants a skirt, i can add it.  I hope she doesn't!  Those are the original legs and they are nice!!  scratched up, but nice.  the scratches give them character.
