lovely weather we're having

Seriously! Our high today was 97, cloudy, with a breeze. It's actually below 75 in my apartment, and the sun's still up! Lately I haven't been able to get it below 75 even after dark.

Plus, I discovered yesterday that our a/c vent blows straight at Rodgers' side of the bed, which is why he's never as hot as I am at night. I told him we're switching places. I might even need to use a blanket tonight! Big Smile

It could only have been better if we'd gotten some of the rain that came through north of us. The ground is so dry that the main water line coming into our apartment complex broke somehow. They had our water turned off for 8 hours yesterday to fix it. It doesn't look like they finished (all their equipment is still sitting out there), but they're taking the weekend off, so they turned the water back on last night.

  • I tired to send the rain down to you!  It was amazing here today too!  I woke up to rain.  I went to let Shrek out and it took him a minute to figure out what the crap was going on.  It was awesome!

Maybe, just maybe I'll sleep through the night without being too hot!

  • I totally think Texas should have funds available to ship females out of state when they are pregnant during these heat waves.  IN-SANE

Well, for one day, at least. The 10 day forecast is back to 100+ with 0% chance of rain.

Rodgers had to get a blanket last night, but this baby kept me warm.

I like the idea of the state shipping pregnant ladies out to cooler climates during the summer. That'd be nice. :)

It's funny you say that because here whenever you find out someone's EDD, one of the FIRST comments out of the other person's mouth is," Oh, no you have to go through summer pregnant" or "Yay! At least you don't have to go through the summer pregnant" or some versions of those.

It never occurred to me people not living in hot southern states would say that until you made that comment.  I'd love to have my baby in the summer because of the whole heat thing but because I get vacation time but mostly the heat thing, lol!

I've seriously become a real hot weather hating person.  I use to love the heat and now I can't stand it.  I'm pretty sure I'd die living in Texas (yes, I'm being dramatic).  I'd have a fear of being stranded in a desert and never making it out alive.

We have been having  perfect weather for me here in NJ.  By me, it's been in the 70's and perfect!  If only people would stop making crazy shows about crazy NJ people and I'd be pretty content with life here:)

  • It rained almost every day this past week. I thought I was going to cry from happiness - the temps actually hit 70 during the daylight hours. Sharp, sharp contrast from 113.

The 100+ degree temps will be back this week, but I think the hottest it will be is 103. At this point in this blasted summer, I'll take it. I hope the rain chances we have stick, because this whole 'high today of 94' business is awesome.
