I'm going to be a bad girl (library related)

I waited over a month for The Help to become available at my library and I'm only halfway through it and it's due tomorrow.  I just tried to renew it online and there are still more holds on it, so I can't renew it.  I think I'm going to keep it through Saturday just so I can finish it because who knows how long I'd have to wait to get it back again.  I feel a little bad for the people waiting since I had to wait, but as long as i finish it just a few days late it isn't too bad, right?!  I thought I'd have more reading time on the ship, but it didn't happen.  I have no idea how much late fees are at our library.  I can't imagine it's that bad.

Re: I'm going to be a bad girl (library related)

  • I've done that. Embarrassed I was too cheap to buy the Revealed Hawaii books but could request them through the library network. Since there was only 1 of each book it was always on request and you couldn't renew it. So I requested them a couple weeks before our trip and brought them with us and returned them late. Luckily our library does no late fee until a month (at which it is $8 but I knew I'd have it back before then).

  • Eh. I've kept a book a couple days long when I couldn't renew. As long as you don't keep it forever, you're fine.

My library charges $0.25 per book per day in late fees (not including Sundays because they are closed). It used to be $0.10, but they had to up it because we have no money to support the library.

    my read shelf:
Jo's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)

  • I'm pretty much banned from the Boston Public Library system... I owe them so much money! Soooooooo, I don't see any harm in a few days Smile
  • It's funny I feel so weird about returning it late considering the money I'll probably pay in late fees will help the library out. :)

I'll be ready to discuss the book with anyone next week if you want!
