*JuliD* re: granola

You may not even remember at this point, but some time ago you asked me for my granola recipe.  I finally quit slacking, and found the recipe online:

Basic healthy granola

Variations:

Pineapple, papaya, and sunflower seed

Mango, banana, and macadamia nut

I basically just add whatever nuts and/or dried fruit I have around.

Enjoy!

Re: *JuliD* re: granola

  • Thank you!!!  I actually think I am going to give this a go if I have time before our hiking trip.  We always bring dried fruit/nuts and bought a big bag this past weekend - I'll use some of that for the recipe and hope it all turns out! :-)
  • Enjoy!  The only tricky part I've found is that there is a small window of cooking it perfectly.  If it's undercooked, the granola is too chewy (not good).  If it's overcooked, it will taste a little burned.  The cooking times on the recipe usually work for me.

Oh, and make sure you don't overcrowd the pan.  I made that mistake once, and it didn't cook very well.  The granola needs to be spread out well.
