crystal - work question

I'm sure this is the last thing you want, but I think you're a Banner user and maybe can help :)

My new job is on Banner and while I've used it previously (for all of 7 months), I only did it from the Access/ODBC end, not from the Banner interface with all the tabs etc (also, this system is terrible. why is it so popular? omg. the "save, save, ok save" is killing me.)

anyway, the person who I am replacing (retiring) is coming in a few hours a week to train me but isn't in till tomorrow and I'm trying to get this late admit on board. Of course, no one knows how to do this particular part of it and the university doesn't offer student system training, only financial (up to the schools I guess? its pretty decentralized).

OK, backstory over.

I finally figured out how to register this chick, but she isn't coming up in the report I'm trying to run in Access (via the old lady's reports). Actually, she comes up in one but not the other, and I narrowed it down to a missing class code..

so....

any idea how to add a Class to the Student Term tab of SFAREGS?  I can't seem to get into the box. I was able to update her block schedule so i can get into the tab...

thanks, on the offchance you know how to fix this :)

I have never used Banner, but I had to laugh at this. I've heard many times from colleges how frustrating Banner is. Especially from a new user's viewpoint.

  • It is AWFUL. The system at my old-old job took me a little while to learn (the mainframe) but the web overlay was beautiful and super user friendly. This thing is like a java based mainframe in browser (which on my old PC shuts down a lot) and it logs out pretty often. OMG. Awful. And so WEIRD to navigate. I cannot understand how this is the top system available (aside from the sheer cost to upgrade).
