As most of you know, I work in a restaurant. It's a small restaurant (like 15 tables and a bar) with a patio outside. The owner is amazing and is constantly holding events for charity and helping out those raising money for various events. It's difficult in bad weather to hold events because the inside is so small and the patio is not covered. He does rent tents on occasion, but that is very pricey. He has considered buying a tent, but also very expensive.
The owner was away this weekend and we held a crab feast to raise money for him to buy a tent. It was such an amazing event because all of our regulars were there and helping out. There were a few customers, that paid to come, that helped so much that we could not have done it without them. They were running around helping set up and clean up and going out to get things we needed. We really could not have pulled it off without them.
I really want to do something for them, but we have zero budget for it. Does anyone have anything they like to make (I am willing to personally purchase materials) or ideas for saying thank you that are not too expensive?
Re: happy story and thank you gift ?
I have seen a lot of cute little things on Pinterest. For something like this, where you're really just looking for a nice gesture to say thank you, I think a number of inexpensive things could work.
I saw a "s'mores package" on Pinterest, where you pack all of the ingredients for s'mores in a cute way. You could put several of those together for very little money. Or you could make cupcakes in a jar (have also seen those on Pinterest), and put a little thank you tag on them with a nice note. Things like that (especially edible!) are great and don't take a lot of time/money/effort to do.

I'm still looking around. I like the idea of baked goods, the only problem is I am not sure when I will see each of them next. A couple of them I will see this week, but a couple it could be a little while before they are in again.
@Cas- He is still away! We were busy yesterday erasing the evidence :0) He should be back Thurs am and someone is just going to tell him that clearly something went on and to be patient and don't ask any questions. Fri night a lot of the people who were involved are going to meet up and "present" the money and a shadow box with a ticket, a mallet, and pics. One of our friends is going to make a dvd of all the pics to play. I can't wait to see his reaction!
