How was everyone's weekend? Highlights? Lowlights?
I honestly think the highlight of the weekend was staying home all day yesterday & not leaving the house at all except to walk and hit the grocery store. It was nice to watch movies, catch up on house work and not have to dish out money or get gussied up for yet another party.
Saturday we had a beautiful day then storms at night - once it let up we went over and drank with the neighbors.

Re: Monday Already?
We had pretty quiet weekend as well. One annoying part is there was a mix up and 2 of us showed up to work Saturday morning (I've been picking up some OT hours on Saturday mornings for the summer) I ended up working for 2 hours but would have much rather just stayed in bed if someone else was going to be there!
I had dinner with some friends from home that were in the area visiting on Sat night, but yesterday we slept in, made brunch, did groceries and laundry and then had movie night. It was nice and relaxing! We had a massive storm last night too and it POURED for hours afterward. According to the news we got 3 inches of rain just last night!
Can't believe its Monday already and grad school starts this week!
DH & I at the Light Festival
It was a good weekend, pretty quiet. It's a gloomy Monday here...
Highlights:
- Went to see "The Help" on Friday night, and it was great! It was beautifully done and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the book! Anyone see it yet?
- Saturday, we went to the gym early and then just hung around the house, which was nice and relaxing. I sat in the yard and soaked up some sun.
Lowlights:
- It POURED all day yesterday
- I burned cupcakes
So basically, not only did I waste ingredients, and was not able to enjoy them, I still had all the bowls and muffin tins to wash. BOO!
Looks like I'll be continuing the theme, here!
We also had a nice, quiet weekend:
* Saturday: Had mani/pedi date and lunch with my Mom. We had planned to see the "Planet of the Apes", but much to our disappointment, the little theatre where we used to see movies near our salon closed down! Boo!! Rather than go across the county to another theatre, we went shopping instead :-) Found some great buys! She and my Dad later saw the "Apes", so now I can just focus on "The Help"!
*Sunday: Intial plan was to drag H to see "The Help", but it was nice and rainy and gray, so we both hung in, did errands around the house, I did some pp on some photos and posted some to my blog...those sorts of things. And then the sun came out later in the day and it was glorious. I love days in with H...they seem to be so rare nowadays :-))
But Allison: "The Help" is most definitely on my agenda for next week, and I can't wait!!
Highlights: Spending all weekend with my sis, BIL & kids; hanging out with Donnell Rawlins; getting caught up on life (laundry, groceries, clean house)
Lowlight: Kids leaving. I cried
I saw Emma Stone on Regis and Kelly and I want to see the Help more than EVER now. But knowing my movie-going habits (or lack thereof) it'll probably be on DVD before I see it.
Yet another great weekend here.
Friday night we decided to use our groupon and went out to dinner.
Saturday we visited a few wineries and enjoyed trying some new wines. Unfortunately the place we wanted to eat had a 2 1/2-3 hour wait, so we nixed that and just hit Cracker Barrel on the way home. Then we randomly decided to stop by SIL & BILs house to see their kitties.
Sunday we went to church and out to lunch then came home to do laundry and relax.
Ugh. I am soooo exhausted and I don't know why!
This was a really fun weekend. Friday night I went and saw the Glee movie with one of my friends. We were both at the taping so we just kept going oh there we were! But it was really just a wide panning shot of the entire arena. It was corny but we had fun.
Saturday was Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band, and Kenny Chesney. What a freaking awesome show. We taigated all afternoon and had such an incredible time. There were about 10 of us all togehter.
Sunday was a revival day, DH was off of work (he got home from working the concert at about 6am Sunday AM!). So we went to breakfast at 1:00 PM, then spent the rest of the day in bed relaxing and hanging out.
Sorry that it is over, and I know this week is going to be crazy!
I had a nice weekend too, half quiet half busy.
Friday DH was out so I stayed home and made a strawberry lemonade with vodka using country time lemonade and frozen strawberries I pureed. It was amazing!! I yakked with my uncle and then watched the Phillies game on the DVR.
Saturday I pulled some weeds and then we went to Brenna's engagement party around 2pm, which we stayed at until 10pm!! Looooong day but so much fun and we got to know her FI's family and friends. Brenna told me there that one of her cousins will be MOH because she couldn't pick a friend (without worrying about hurt feelings). She's 18 so she'll need help with things and she's OOS, it'll definitely make for a joint effort from the bridal party. It was a very hard decision for her and she was quite upset about it but I think she did the right thing. And it certainly doesn't mean I'll do any less for her for the wedding events bc I'm not MOH :-)
Sunday we spent the day vegging completely, literally on the sofa almost all day watching movies on tv. We both needed down time after the party and I needed some time to process the bridal party arrangements. It poured here too and so it was a perfect day to spend at home snuggling with DH.
April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
Our weekend was great! The weather has been absolutely beautiful here!
I worked Saturday morning, then had a birthday party to go to for my cousin's baby who turned 3. It was pretty boring and her house is a disaster. I know they don't have money, but she could have at least cleaned! I would be embarrassed to have anyone see my house looking like that.
Sunday we just relaxed. DH played on his PS3 while I worked on organizing pics on the computer. (My laptop needs a new hard drive so I had to take everything off it so I didn't lose my stuff... its headed for a major crash right now). DH put another shelf up in the laundry room for me (for extra storage space). And since he had his new jigsaw (birthday present) out he cut some wood for me (future craft projects). We took the pups for a walk too since it was so nice out. Then I helped DH work on the car. We are having the worst luck with cars right now, it sucks! My Storm had a tire blow and before that it already needed new CV axles. The brakes on DH's Dakota (race car) locked up on the way home from a car show so he had to replace everything brake related. Once that was fixed, on the way home from another car show, I get phone call from DH saying his wheel has an 8" crack in it and its letting air out of the tire! Now last night while trying to find the problem noise on the Grand Prix, the CV Boot came off and he's got that fixed, but now it makes an aweful noise. We have also inherited grandma's 1985 Crown Victoria (we are trying to sell it for the in-laws). Its just such a mess! There are so many problems, we don't know what to fix first! lol I feel so bad for DH too, because I know his patience is running low.
Sorry that turned out so long, lol. I should have saved this for a venting post or something!
Highlights: SD's slumber party was a huge success. They had a great time swimming & then watching movies & hanging out. They stayed up until about 1 am & I woke them up the next morning at about 9 with the smell of homemade sticky buns filling the house.
Lowlights: After her friends left at 10 a.m. SD said that her head hurt really bad & ended up getting sick. She threwup about 6 or 7 times that day & ran a small fever. At first we thought it was a bad sinus headache that was making her nauseous but because of the fever we think that it was a stomach bug.
I just hope none of her friends get it. She's feeling a little better today & EX (begrudgingly) took her to the doctor this morning since she couldn't keep anything down & was still complaining of a headache.
Our weekend was great, but so exhausting! My brother came to visit from Arizona and we all headed up to LA to meet up with DH's family and see Rodrigo y Gabriela at the Hollywood bowl! It was an incredible concert!
On Sunday, we drove back to San Diego for our friend's baby shower - she loved the knit hat and booties that I made! Yay!

@Danielle: Good luck with grad school!
@George-Anne: Glad to hear the slumber party was a success. Bums that SD got sick
That girl just can't catch a break!
Friday: I left work a little early because I wasn't feeling well and basically spent all night on the couch until I threw up and then decided I should just go to bed
Saturday: Slow start to the morning....DH had to work all day and I was going to my sister's to finish some invites for our parent's 40th. I eventually made it there and my sister let me veg most of the day.
Sunday: Lounged around for most of the morning and then went to Goodwill later in the afternoon, drove home, at some supper, and went to church with DH. DH was at my parents tearing off my brother's roof so he was exhausted!
I'm hoping this week will be better for me in terms of m/s. Last week sucked!

I haven't seen the Help yet. In fact I hadn't even heard of it until reading posts on here! Will have to check it out online...
