Ok, I want to hit 500 SOOOOOO badly before I go back to school. So why don't we institute something new? Many other boards have this occasionally. Let's go beyond the usual intro threads and GTK each other even more.
So, ask me anything! However, I do reserve the right to plead the fifth!

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.

Re: Ask me anything!
We know you painted your kitchen a shade of green... what other colors did you choose??
I have a gray in my office at home and a light blue in our guest bedroom. My work office is now almost the same shade of blue as the guest room, and one wall is the same color as DHs office at home (just a slightly lighter shade!). I hope I don't get sick of the colors!
Wow!
Oooh, I like! I fell in love with the aura series from Benjamin Moore. Each of the paint colors has a slight undertone of gray, which makes them all blend.
We designed the living/dining/hallway/entrance way around the baby grand piano as well as the colors downstairs. The downstairs had just been remodeled with pale yellows and a peach, so we went with a sunny beige for the living/dining/hallway, and a yellow/beige that's a bit darker for the bi-level entrance way.
The master is a pale blue. I love it. It feel spa-like.
The 2nd bedroom is a salmon pink with browns and creams.
The 3rd bedroom is "bar harbor beige." I LOVE it.
The kitchen is the only room I don't like. I wimped out on the green and it's not the right shape. Our apartment was so dark and dingy that I got scared by the dark green. I either needed to go much darker or much lighter.

Broadway actress. No doubt about it. I love teaching, and I know I'm good at it, but there's something about being onstage that never fails to get me going. My parents were supportive of theatre as a hobby but not as a profession, and I don't have the dance training I would need to be in the ensembles of most shows. Well, that, and the weight gain that started when I was 10 and never quite disappeared.
I really hope that when I'm a mom that I'll be able to support my kids in their dreams the way I wish my parents could have supported me. It just wasn't possible with divorced parents who were struggling to keep themselves afloat in a HCOL area.

That's a tough one - I have favorites from each era of Broadway. I love Showboat, Wicked, RENT, the Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis, Ragtime - the list goes on and on!
Give me a good plot with FANTASTIC singers, and I'm hooked. But I'm really harsh on Broadway singers. My mom and I go to theatre each year and from 204 to 2009 I wasn't impressed with the singers. When we saw South Pacific in 2009 I was really impressed with the singing.

my read shelf:
We took a two week Mediterranean cruise that left from Barcelona and went to Cannes/Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome, Naples, Venice, Dubrovnik, and Corfu before sailing back to Barcelona. I would LOVE to go back to Venice, Rome, and Florence, and we didn't get to see much of Barcelona.
Other places on our must see list include the Amalfi Coast (DH's family is from there), London/Paris, Hawaii, Alaska, more of the Caribbean (Aruba and Bermuda, specifically), and DH wants to see Israel. I went there when I was 13 and would love to go back. I'd also love to do a musicians' tour of Europe.

We were set up by a mutual friend - one of my bridesmaids - remember the one who was awful during the planning process? Yeah, her. We went and had drinks at a nice bar around here. She set us up, thinking we wouldn't work, and then said, "You stole my backup!" three years later. Honey, you GAVE him to me!

This will be my 7th year teaching, 2nd year in my current district. I've worked on musicals in many capacities - musical director, assistant director, props mistress, costume crew, tech crew, sound crew, etc. - but last year was my first time actually directing a musical, and we did Guys and Dolls Jr. I don't know that I have a dream musical to direct with kids because at the middle school level we're so limited by ability, lack of staff, and budget. I'm pretty psyched to be doing Seussical Jr. this year - I hope the kids are as excited about it as I am! The jr. version is pretty good. I'm not thrilled with all of the cuts, but I think the vocal re-writes they did for it are pretty good.
