ok, I guess this is where I wasn't sure. I can see the argument against making extra taxes for the rich, but I can't see the argument against preventing them from getting out of the same taxes everyone else has to pay. If what you're saying is the case (as opposed to what I thought it was but I have no idea how econ/politics work), then I would be in support of Buffett.

This is the way I see it. I don't think that the "super rich" should necessarily pay a higher percentage than others, but it makes total sense to me that they should pay the same percentage as others.

but wouldn't they be in a higher tax bracket, essentially paying higher percentages on the income they make more than the average joe? i still think the tax brackets should increase with income, although maybe not drastically.
