Talk about intimidating...
Had an interview today, the recruiter called me on Monday and we scheduled for today at 10am. I get there and it is 7 people there interviewing me. I have heard of "panel" type interviews but had never had one myself (most has been 2 people) but 7 I think was a little overkill..
FYI this was a hospital, 2 social workers, the other 2 nurses that do the job I was interviewing for and a couple nurse managers from various departments Has anyone ever had one like this? Did they tell you beforehand it would be multiple interviewers? I see the benefit of it having a multi-disciplinary panel but it's still scary!
Re: Talk about intimidating...
My last interview was three rounds.
First round consisted of 3 hour long interviews with 3 people in each of them.
Second round was with another department with 3 people.
The last was with the original 9 people.
It was insane!
It was for an RN care manager, like a discharge planner type position.
I wish you the best of luck! Our unit couldn't function without our case managers!
Thanks!
That sounds insane.
The best thing in those situations is to not let it show that you are shaken. I swear some employers set up interviews specifically to be intimidating, but it really shows that you've got what it takes to do the job if you can walk in without missing a stride, and look every person in the eyes during the conversation.
