Thanks, ladies. I have a little more info, and a clearer path to a solution, although no real progress is made yet.
The occupational health office also has a conference room that is not used that often, so there is a good chance that if the exam room is booked I can use the conference room instead. (Nurses should have told me that on Friday, but now I know who to call in that department to get someone to find me a space.)
I managed to get a hold of HR this morning, and they figured out that the room is in the works but is not scheduled to be completed until the end of the fiscal year, which is September 30th for us. They also provided me with the point of contact in the facilities department, so they can actually tell me how far along the room is.
Fingers crossed that they are almost done, or at the very least will be done by their deadline.
