TMI question/need advice

Has anyone ever had their period twice within a week or 2?  I had my regular monthly start a week from this past Saturday.  Everything was good, normal length, etc.  Well then this past Saturday I started bleeding again.  I usually only bleed for 3-4 days and then I'm good to go again.  Anyone think I should be concerned?  I have not been on any meds or anything like that.  The only thing DH & I can think of is that we "knocked something loose" this weekend when we were...ahem...getting busy.

Re: TMI question/need advice

  • I wouldn't be too worried since we all know stress and the like can screw with your body. I've had some weird periods even when on the pill. But, if it keeps up for a while or if the bleeding gets heavy I would talk to your doctor.

    This exactly.

  • My friend did for a while. It happened a few months in a row and the doctor put her on the pill to regulate it and it helped. Still don't know why it happened but she thought maybe stress. Anyway keep an eye on it and if it happens again check with the doctor esp since you are TTC
  • It's really easy for this to happen and it's completely natural. I had my period twice one month and coincidentally I was on two co-workers cycles...for some reason my body cycled and caught onto two...it's crazy sometimes what happens. I wouldn't be too concerned with going to a doctor if it's a one-time occurrence. If it begins to happen regularly for the next couple of months it might be worth checking into.

  • This literally just happened to me last month!! My second visit was two weeks after the last one ended! And man, was I ticked (I had planned to have some 'fun' with H on that Friday night that it began!). But I agree, it's normal, and stress can definitely do that. That was during the time that I was dealing with crap at work, and I put it to that as soon as it happened. But I agree...if it keeps happening, time to get it checked out.

  • OMG....back in the late 90s before I went on my pill, I went 5 months without having one (knew I wasn't PG since I wasn't with anyone at the time), then they started up to where they'd last 3 weeks at a time and I'd be lucky to have a week's break in between.

And even after my pills regulated me, I'd have one a 2nd time during the month if I was anxious, nervous or stressed about something.  I'm sure it's nothing - probably a stress thing - but it never hurts to ask the doc if you feel more comfortable getting their opinion!

  • Thanks ladies. I appreciate all the advice.  Glad to know this is not uncommon.
