How is everyone today? I'm looking forward to a night at home, sorting and editing photos from our travels and doing some more blogging. Simple pleasures 
QOTD: When you were younger (like high school/uni), what was your worst part time job? Best?

Doing well. I have lots to get done at work today.
QOTD: My least fav job in those years was as a painter, though I did learn how ot paint a whole house (2 summers in high school). My favorite job as working as an assistant in the advertising department of a newspaper (2 summers in college).
Morning. I went out and did some early grocery shopping. I like it when I get things done early.
QOTD: My least favorite job was as a hostess in a chinese restaurant. The owners were horrible, but the food was delicious. There were times when people had to wait 2+ hours for their takeout order and during those times the owners would hide out in the kitchen and not come out and explain what was going on to anyone. They wouldn't tell us our schedule, instead about 15 minutes before they wanted you to leave, they would tell you to leave and then when you should come to work next.
Then there were the customers. It was in a slightly upper class neighborhood. I don't think there were a lot of Asians in it, and I'm half-Asian, but not half-Chinese. Anyway, this customer's 7-ish year old daughter asked me if I was Chinese. I told her it wasn't. The mom apologized to me and told her daughter it was rude to ask. I never understood why it was rude to ask. I look somewhat Asian and I'm working at a Chinese restaurant.
Best job: every other one during my college years.
Good morning! I'm still in a state of total shock honestly. I have two Festival shows to go to tonight which I'm looking forward to, I'm all over the place!
QODT: I worked as a telemarketer for 2 hours. Never again.

My worst job was working at a coffee and bagel place. The job itself wasn't awful, but the hours were, and all of the other staff members were the popular cliquey girls at school so I didn't like them much. Plus I didn't drink coffee at that point in my life, so there wasn't even a decent payoff.
Best job, camp counselor at a summer camp, hands down. I spent 2 summers doing it, how can you not like getting paid to play dodgeball?
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Morning! Today my parents are taking the pup for a walk. I have to go to the commune to get some papers stamped to send in so we get the money the government owe us for having a baby.
This evening we're going to my parents for a grill
QOTD: I moved to the US when I was right about the age for part time jobs so never had any as our visa didn't allow for us to work. I babysat a number of times but nothing else until I started working at a summer camp in Uni....OH wait I did work at the ren fest but I loved that too!
Good morning. I woke up thinking it was Thursday. Sigh.
QOTD: My worst job was working as a cashier in a sub shop. The owners were two alcoholic sisters. I was not a fan. That was actually worse than my stink making collections calls!
Best, second journalism job in NYC. Made some life-long friends there and they had a zen room where we could hang out.
I forgot that I did that, too. I worked as a telemarket for 4 hours. 3.5 hours of training and then I quit in the first 30 minutes.
Good morning ladies. I'm doing good, just trying to catch up in e-mails and such in between being 'told' to play a game for ds lol. Today's play group is at the park for family fun day so me, my mom and dad and the kids are heading there in a bit.
QOTD: In hs I worked at a restaurant as a table busser. OMG, I LOATHED that job and quit after about 2 weeks.
Best job, I worked at an ice cream parlour and I actually lost weight that summer lol. I ate ice cream and frozen yoghurt all the time. It was beautiful lol.
Morning! Nothing special going on today, so that's nice.
QOTD: My worst job was working as a latchkey person in high school. The boss lady was CRAZY and really short with the kids. My best job was working at the library. I was a page, so shelving books, but I loved the atmosphere and the people I worked with. Plus...a free library card and no late fees!
Morning! Nothing much going on today, just trying to con someone from work to come with me to buy some Turkmen scarves.
QOTD: Best was admissions officer during the summer at my uni. I did some filing, got to see lots of applications (and therefore learn what was super common and what NOT to write), and then I gave tours of campus.
Worst was working as a secretary for some plumbing guy. He had nothing to do so we just typed up pamphlets on being a good salesman and stuff. It wasn't that bad, really, just not worth the money to lose all those good summer days and be bored out of my skull.
Had a pretty good day. Was inadvertently late to a meeting that I ended up not needing to attend. That was a nice waste of 15 minutes!
QOTD: I was a hostess at a Denny's-type of restaurant when I was 17. Graveyard shift on the weekend = drunks. Fun.
Good morning! I'm just going to make it a lazy day and finish up a book I'm reading, taking it easy.
Worst: Working in a chain restaurant as a waitress. Aside from the typical ups and downs, we were the kind of chain that made you dance and sing happy birthday to customers, and it was a family restaurant so LOTS of toddlers. As such, lots of messes, tantrums, mac and cheese ground into carpets, etc.
Best: Working at a thrift store. I worked with a handful of friends, and we had a blast. Plus you always were the first to stumble across all kinds of unique things, and more than a handful of ridiculous and silly items.
QOTD: The best job I had in HS was working at a local water park. I worked the front gate so I could let me friends in for free and after about an hour of opening no one else came so I could go lay out or join my friends on the slides. The best job I had in University was working as a server at a private country club. Pay was outstanding and mostly all the events held there were open bar so we could help ourselves. Really good times!
The worst would have to be working as a telemarketer. I think I lasted about a week.
