DOTD - Tuesday (ten words!)
So -- for Ten Word Tuesday -- "The Internet is a blessing and a curse. What do you miss most about life before oversharing?"
(which - BTW -- I find this to be HI-LAR-EE-OUS to be posting on an Intenret chat board. So, no, the irony is not lost on me.)
My response: Writing letters and using the phone to keep in touch.

"What is a week-end?"
Re: DOTD - Tuesday (ten words!)
My answer: I miss getting real snail mail letters in the mail.
ETA - sleep deprived mssaint can't follow directions - so much for 10.
Definitely getting letters. I have all of the letters that my high school bffs sent me when we were at different colleges (since long distance was expensive, duh!), and it is such an amazing glimpse into our lives. I guess kids today could look back at facebook status updates or emails, but I feel like writing them down on paper made us think about what we were writing.

Ditto Talking on the Phone
Actually catch up with people over the phone, coffee or a drink. Now it is just a review of things i already know via facebook.
My answer: Even at the beach, we fight over the laptop. Ridiculous.

They barely sell phone books for personal numbers anymore... why?
I miss snail mail and voice to voice communications too.
definitely writing and receiving real letters from friends and family.
i still have the letters i received when i lived abroad, was at college, etc... and i love that glimpse back into our lives then.
So, so true. Imagining certain nights on facebook causes cringing.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I am glad my college days were social media free!
(not because I was doing anything extremely terrible but it does add a whole spin on high school and college and 20s that I did not have to deal with. Having a kid makes me worry about bullying and all that other stuff that social media and the internet can add to an already tough age.)
