c25k anyone?

Has anyone does C25k?  I just finished week 2 and am starting week 3 tomorrow.  So far so good, but I am nervous about how much longer each run gets from here on in.  It looks like a big jump.  My hope is to run a 5k before Thanksgiving.

Re: c25k anyone?

  • i admire people who can run outside. I get super tired after about 5 minutes and give up... on a treadmill I can do 40 minutes, but outside, I am dead.

good luck in achieving your goal :)

  • GOOD LUCK! I didn't do C25K I just ran on my own and followed (loosely) a program from NIKE+ website. I went from in May huffing and puffing my first 5k to completing a 10K on Thanksgiving and a 1/2 marathon (13.1mi)  in February.   (All RUNNING/JOGGING the whole time- no breaks/stopping).  I NEVER thought I would be able to do that.. but you'll be surprise at how quickly your mileage and endurance increases! You'll do great! Let me know if you want an accountability partner!

  • I did a C25K last summer (and ran an actual 5K the weekend after my wedding). I kinda hated it. Plus I have circulation issues in my legs so I couldn't actually run the whole thing (my legs basically start to cramp up and fall asleep). I made it half way through and then had to alternate running/walking the rest of the way.

Every so often I'll do run/walk intervals on the treadmill, but I don't plan to do any more outside, or any training.

I like the health benefits but overall, it's just not for me.
