Today sucks already. I'm in a craptastic mood. People at work are obnoxious! It's beautiful outside my window and i would love to be outside instead of working!

I feel old. I pulled a muscle in my lower back, it hurts like a ***. I wanted to take the entire bottle of Aleve this morning.
Last night I did my nightlies plus unloading the dishwasher and two loads of laundry. Then I listened to MFD talk incessantly about why he wants a Keurig and when we can get it. We walked the dogs, cutting that short due to a low flying bat. TV was True Blood and Hell's Kitchen on DVR. I slept like the dead.
Tonight I'm heading right to SIL's after work to watch the boys while she works. MFD is going earlier since I don't get off the train until 6 and she'll be in work before then.
Ugghhh.... Tuesday can suck a d***
I wish I was still away. Each time we go to the keys it gets harder to come back. I told Greg to talk with the owner of where he works to open the next restaurant he has to open in the Keys and we will move down there and run it. His job is really the only one keeping us in Tampa. I use to not want to move there till we were old but I think we it might be sooner,
I have only been at work for and hours and I already want to run and go back home. Come on people I just came back from paradise please don't be annoying.
Did I miss anything interesting while I was gone? I haven't had a chance to check up.
Tuesday. Feeling depressed. August is kicking our A** with money leaving the household. Without any coming in on my side it is getting rough. We went away for the first weekend, H's birthday means renewing vehicle plates, and so on and so forth. I need a job and soon. There is apparently not much out there, I've been looking... I swear. It is starting to suck.
Anyway... enough of the whining.
My last day of vacation this week but I've enjoyed my 4-day weekend. Woke up early and took the dog on a 4 mile walk/run; more walking than running going to be another warm day today. And today after DH goes to work, I'm going to paint our office so he can put together the desk he bought me on his next day off which is Thursday.
I also went to Lowe's yesterday for some Frog tape and of course, I walk out with more than I had planned, oops. Found 2 annuals for $1/pot, and another annual flower for $2, holla! Also bought a plastic deck box for the $1 annuals. Just need to get some more potting soil so I can put the Mums that my grandma gave me into a real pot instead of the plastic one it came in.

Hey guys! Last night I thought I broke my toe, but today it feels much better so I think it was just a really bad sprain/jam/something. Before you say I'm an over-reacting baby, it WAS really red and swollen and painful! That was pretty much all that happened last night, big excitement in the LauraT household. We also did some laundry and ate some yummy turbot for dinner.
Today is a busy day, and I am already starving. An instrument in my lab broke, so I have to do stuff by hand (the horrors!!) and it's going to be a sloooooooow day.
I finally read the oopsie thread, and I just want to say that I love this group of people so much. The girls here have been through a lot, and I really respect everyone who said something. Also, I realize that my drunken 'gay' comment may have been taken the wrong way - it was totally in jest, and I have no issue with people being gay, bi, or otherwise. It was the first 'secret' that popped into my head, and seemed like it would be kinda juicy if someone got married (to a man) less than a year ago and is now coming out of the closet. And Shauni, I went through almost the exact same thing as you, except my ex only called me and said he wanted to see me, he never showed up at work. If you ever want to talk, you know how to reach me - I was in that 'relationship' for a year and it kills me to think that other people have had to put up with that sort of abuse too.
xtine, welcome back. How was your trip? I hope you had good weather and got lots of relaxation in!

My trip was awesome! Weather was great it only rained once but luckly we were in the confides of my favorite bar on Duval st, Irish Kevins. I had several NA beers I felt pretty cool while drinking them.
Also funny story, we went to this open bar for the best pizza in the entire world and they have the worlds tallest bar stools. I remember the last time we went I had trouble getting on and off them. Sitting I was only an inch taller then Greg while he was standing and he is over 6ft. It was quite the sight on me trying to get on and off these stools. Actually I learned this weekend bar stools are not really made for pregnant women.
I guess I missed the whole oopsadaisy thing.
Last night I went to the gym, it felt so good to work out. After the gym I went to Trader Joe's and bought the best salad dressing ever. It's their Pear Champagne w/Gorgonzola dressing and it is so freaking good. We made reservations to go camping next weekend. I love camping and considering that we didn't go once last year, we sure are making up for it this year.
I am mad at DH right now. I think it freaking sucks that I'm broke, have to buy groceries yet he has thousands of $$ in his bank account. Do I have to ask you for $ for groceries and essentials. Shouldn't you just give me money or put it in the joint account? I guess this is one reason separate accounts don't work. Whatever...

I worked all.damn.day. Seriously got home about 8 or so, ate a quick something, Watched/dozed Secret Life and then crawled in the bed about 9:30. I was too tired to get pissed about J leaving today to go to Albany because he's "bored". Well, dude go out and get a effin job so I can quit one of mine! /rant
Today has sucked. I've spent three hours trying to figure out my schedule at this school and it's about impossible when you're only here 1.5 days. And I keep thinking today is Wednesday...
Debdeb, sounds like time for a come to jesus talk about money! We combined in January, and it's honestly made things so much easier. We each have a separate small checking account for fun money, and it's been great because H can't biitch if I want some shoes or makeup or something.
Emily, is J all recovered from his appendix surgery? Is he starting FD training soon? Otherwise, yeah, sorry you're "bored," but get to work!
Otherwise, I've got not much, other than that I need a vacation! And lots of caffeine, but I can only have a little.
It is also gorgeous today here and I need to get out there somehow.
Today is the first day back from my long weekend including a bridal shower, bachlorette party, baseball game, dinner with family, brunch with friends, baseball game, going away party, and lots of shopping. I had a blast, but I already miss everyone.
Moleson - I thought of you Friday when I got caught in a downpour on the expressway between Portage and Madison, it was horrible (we were driving 35). My brother had zero rain at their house, so I hope your floors stayed dry.
All was dry when I got home. :-)
Thanks for the good thoughts ladies. Sorry to be a debbie downer. Hopefully SOMETHING will happen soon, b/c I hate feeling useless while H works nonstop.
at least our weather is nice... hitting the low 80s and sunny this week after our rainy weekend. Planning on making our baked BBQ chicken breast and roasted red potatoes from the garden for dinner tonight as long as H gets home before 8. Should be good, we haven't had it for a while.
Deb - Totally agree. We have one checking account and then we get an "allowance" when there's extra from the budget. It really helps and makes things so much easier.
Oh yeah he's fine. He goes and plays tennis and everything. He's still on a weight restriction but that ends 8/22 so less than a week. The FD thing is a pain in my ass. He doesn't take the physical portion of the test til November and there's some training in there but it's like 5 sessions total or something. The dude is physically fit so I have no doubt about him passing the test. His whole thing is that he doesn't want to start a job now and then quit if/when he gets the FD job. My point is you'll be working 24 on/48 off so a PT job shouldn't really affect you besides changing your availability around a little.
Why couldn't he work retail or something? Then if the FD thing takes a little longer or whatever it's not like he's in a full time position and then eventually weed out the pt job.
Deb - I agree with the others combine a checking account for household stuff including groceries and then if he wants his own spending money he can keep a little of what's left every pay period to do what he wants with it. James was hesitant at first to combine money as he wanted to cash his check first and then give me money to deposit but that turned into a hassle. We are always communicating with each other about what's in the account, etc and agree that anything over a certain dollar amount isn't purchased until we talk to one another, just to make sure that we don't overdraw etc.

we might be the oddballs out when it comes to money. We opened a joint account during wedding planning in which we put our tax returns into for wedding purposes. But we each still have our own accounts.
We rent, so each month we write our rent checks (half each). And then there are designated bills that I pay, and ones that he pays. We just fell into that routine the past year and half. It used to be that I would pay stuff and then have to yell at him to pay some too.
I pay our health insurance, so even though we make about the same, I have a lot more deductions each month. So there are times when i have to have him give me money to get by for gas, etc.
This is kinda how we pay bills. We only really use our joint account so we can shuffle money from my account to his or the other way around. Rent we spilt, I pay for groceries because I am the one who shops. He pays most of the other bills and I might pay one. It really depends on the month.
I don;t really pay the bills even if I it is coming out of my account. Greg will open all them tell me he paid them or if he is using my card to pay them.
Deb, I just realized that I didn't totally address what you're saying the problem is, since you said you already have a joint account. The system we use that has worked for us is that we each get the same/similar amount of "fun" money, so basically that's direct deposited first into our separate accounts, and then the rest is joint.
We didn't really have disagreements about money before, but it was just a PITA to figure out who pays what when. This has really simplified our lives, and neither of us gets mad or pissy if the other has more "fun" money left over.
Mush & Jessie - I have tried and suggested and encourage and pretty much done everything except apply for the job myself for him. Next week, he's doing it regardless since he'll finally be cleared from the doctor so he won't have an excuse anymore.
And hopefully, at the end of the this month I won't be needed with the old people so will just have the two and one of those is just for a couple hours after school so that's no biggy plus there's no traveling.
