Question about wedding attire

Sorry for my ignorance here - I have a black tie wedding to attend in September. Do I need a floor length gown? I have a black bridesmaid dress that is hemmed to the bottom of the kneecap and I am not sure whether that's acceptable. I'm 33 weeks pregnant so I am trying to minimize my clothing purchases, but I've found a floor length gown under $30 that will do, if necessary. What do you think?

Re: Question about wedding attire

  • 1. I think anything goes these days for black tie in September, especially if it's black.

    2. I also think at 33 weeks pregnant you are exempt from any rules about attire.

this.  i bought one lbd for the 3 weddings i had to go to while in maternity clothes.  sorry but i wouldn't even try buying a maternity gown unless i was (a) going to the oscars/inaugural ball/state dinner or (b) in the wedding.

  • Thank God. I wasn't looking forward to buying another dress (besides the bridesmaid's dress) that I'd be able to wear another 1-2 times, max.
