I need to vent for a minute

I had a job interview this morning, so I made sure to give myself extra time with the bus.  Thank god I did, because the power went out on the bus line, and we all had to get off the bus (the 73) and walk to pick up the 71.  And then two buses went by and didn't stop, because they were already full. Normally, I would have just walked to Harvard Square (I was at Star Market on Mt. Auburn), but, well, interview. Suit + sweat = no bueno.  So I walked to the next stop, thinking that maybe the already-full buses wouldn't stop for the 40ish people waiting, but would stop for one person.  Yeah, three buses drove by me after stopping at the other stop.  Strategy fail. I ended up grabbing a cab and paying 10 bucks to go about a mile.

Thankfully, the woman I interviewed with was really understanding - I called her while I was waiting, so she knew I would be late. And I think it all went well in the end.  But of all days for the MBTA to suck! Sigh.

Someone else vent about something, so I feel better.  Stick out tongue

Re: I need to vent for a minute

  • Ugh, public transit fail. And it is always when you need to be somewhere.

I've definitely missed dinner plans because the T shutdown and they were busing people, which takes forever. Unfortunately I work in Kendall and need to go to Alewife so I can't walk and usually don't have cash for a cab (though I suppose I could have gone to an ATM but it would have been pricey).

At least the interview went well! GL!

  • I always hated the buses. Stupid. The MBTA is so poorly run in comparison to other cities public transit.

My vent- I have to call Cristina's and order a new BM dress because (as I said) the one they made me get is so large that the seamstress will not touch it. She said even given my measurements now that it was ridiculous that they put me in a 16.

So now I have to haggle with the owner, who I am afraid will not be accommodating, understanding, or nice at all. And I'll be out another $200 because his witch of an assistant already told me they will not take it back.

  • 5000candles, that totally sucks.  I can't believe two more buses just went right by you but stopped at the other stop.  So aggravating!  It sucks when you try to be responsible and account for potential issues but you run into problems anyway.  Glad it sounds like the interview still went OK, and good luck!

Punky, sorry to hear the BM dress saga is still continuing.

I don't have anything to vent right now.  I think I went way over my rage quota for the month with that little Target parking lot incident Smile

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Punky, that sucks. I would be a b*tch right back to her, until she gave me a replacement dress for free. And then I would post reviews all over the internet letting everyone know exactly how craptastic their customer service is.  Good luck!

Apparently, my husband just got b*tched out by our landlord's wife about the dog barking all morning. Because for some reason, he didn't lock him up in the office when he left, so Jack  must have been at the back door, which is right off the entrance they use all the time. She was going on and on at him about how annoying Jack is, and how he barks all the time, but today is the worst, and how we need to put him on drugs.  Which, eff you lady. You let your dogs run around off-leash all the time, and they're the worst behaved dogs I've ever seen. One of them charged us when we were walking up the street, and your husband barely acknowledged it.  And they bark the whole way down the stairs, which, you know, is why my dog barks at them.  It's not like he sits there barking at nothing.

I get that it's annoying when he gets going and we're not there to calm him down, but I highly doubt Jack sits at home barking 8 hours a day.  He has about 15 minutes of energy in him at a time, and then he sleeps for an hour.  I hate them, and I hate that we re-signed the lease and are now stuck there until next August.

Can today be over now? Sigh.

  • Poor you 5000Candles!  I hope you get the job, and I hope your landlord stops talking about your pup.

Punky that really sucks.  I really hope that they replace the dress for you.  That really is a nightmare.

I have nothing to vent really.
