Who is excited about Fat Tire coming to DC?

I am a huge beer fan and Fat Tire was one of my first favorites that you could only get west of the Mississippi. It was one of the first beers I would order any time I went out west for years.

It's actually not one of my favorites anymore as I am much more of a double IPA fan and Russian River is my new favorite unavailable brewery, but I do still love New Belgium Brewing and look forward to getting their other brews!

They will FINALLY be available in the DMV as of August 22. W0rt!

Re: Who is excited about Fat Tire coming to DC?

  • I thought of you this weekend in MI...  Had a couple of tasty brews while I was there.  :)
  • I went to college is Fort Collins and remember when this was a very small local brewery. Plus a bar had 'Fat Tuesday' every week where drafts were only $1. Ahhh, fond college memories.

When we went to Colorado for a wedding when DD was 4 months old, we went by the new wind powered brewery. They are employee-owned and all samples are free :-) Glad they have expanded so much!

  • I've never had it but I am super excited to try it because it has so many good reviews.

DH and I went to Colorado a couple of years ago and had to drive up to Ft. Collins from Denver just to go to New Belgium! It was a fun afternoon :-)

Fort Fun is a great college town :-) Plus while everyone else I knew at other colleges were drinking Miller Lite and other bad beer, we had access to New Belgium, O'Dells and Coopersmith's :-)

  • I love New Belgium and Fat Tire! It's not my favorite beer, but it's a great "universal" beer that almost everyone likes.

We went to all of those! That was the trip where we went to 9 or 10 breweries/brewpubs in 3 or 4 days. My memory is a little foggy. I wonder why?

  • me me me me!!! Every time my dad drives to visit us from Chicago, he brings a case or two.  DH and I have visited the brewery and loved it more after our visit.  Soooo excited, but as far as I know, they won't be carrying everything out here, at least in the beginning.

Now if we could only get some Goose Island (Matilda specifically), life would be complete!

  • I'm pretty sure they had it at Black Squirrel in Adams Morgan last fall. I guess now you can get it in liquor/beer stores?

  • So excited!  My extended family is from CO and we always have it when we are out there (though I have been branching out to the other New Belgium beers).  We attempted to get our fill when we were out there last month and were so excited to hear that they are coming here and in time for our Birthday BBQ next week!
