My cycle length has slowly started to decrease and it averages around 39 days. The last cycle was 35 days, the time before that 38, the time before that 37, the time before that 40.
Before I left on vacation I was sitting at 45 days with no sign of a period. It wasn't too unusual but it still kind of freaked me out so I took a test while I was packing Saturday evening just so I could relax the next week and it was negative. Well I'm back from vacation and on day 56 and still no sign of a period. This is ok isn't it? Do I need to take another test? The only thing that's changed in this whole cycle is that I started taking thyroid medication which I'm blaming it on in my head.
I realize I also thought I was pregnant last month and I went out and bought a onesie. I'm slightly ridiculous when it comes to thinking I'm pregnant, but this month is going on a little too long.

Re: Someone talk me down
I would imagine the change in body chemistry might cause irregular cycle length, but I'd take another test just in case.
Best wishes that you have whatever outcome you prefer!
This. I hope you get the results you are looking for.
The results I'm specifically looking for don't involve a baby lol, but I would be ok with it. I went off BCPs in the Fall and started using other methods knowing that there was a higher chance and we felt we were at a time where we could handle a 'chance'.
I'm rethinking that right now.
You could just be ovulating later (due to the thyroid medication, travel, stress, etc) and that is why your cycle is longer. When I went off BCP, my cycles were all over the place, finally settling at about 29 days. But every once in a while, something would cause me to ovulate late, and I woud end up with a 40 something day cycle. Totally normal, unless it starts happening every single month, and then I would talk to your dr.
