Mardoll

My husband is an attoney and said you can't really fight impeding traffics.  If you go to coourt, they may change the impeding to speeding.  In the comments section did the officer write speeding or your speed?   Impeding is no points and does not affect insurance.  More and more officers wrtie impeding tickets lately for that reason-it doesn;t affect insurance.

Re: Mardoll

  • Yeah, I was thinking about it last night and figured it probably isn't worth fighting.  From what I have heard, when you fight a ticket they will often remove points but make you pay the fine, and since this one doesn't carry any points, I didn't think it would be worth the time and effort.  Plus you're right, the officer did note my speed on the ticket, so it had crossed my mind that they could increase the charges/points just to "teach me a lesson" if they wanted to.  Thanks for looking into that for me though!

Sometimes I wonder about the insurance thing though......insurance companies can be really shady, so I wouldn't doubt that it might ping my record regardless of having points or not.  :o(  I trust insurance agencies about as far as I can throw them.  :o)
