Anyone work in HR?

I'm interviewing for an HR Assistant position on Thursday and I'm wondering what I should expect.  I've never worked in HR before specifically, but was the EA for my last company and was basically a jack of all trades, so I dealt with schedules, payroll, insurance, workers comp claims, etc.

Anything I should know or play up?  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Re: Anyone work in HR?

  • I'm an HR Coordinator and have also done staffing, recruiting, and payroll.  They will probably ask you what policies you are familiar with such as FMLA and workers' comp.  Mention any experience you have handling unemployment claims or attending hearings, as well as benefits administration and what software programs you have used for payroll.

  • Thank you!!!  This is great info!
