Is it too early to be thinking about Halloween?

Is anything thinking about costumes yet? For you, SO, kids, pets?

Re: Is it too early to be thinking about Halloween?

  • I am! I love love love Halloween and I have a kid that also loves it. Chase has been asking if it's time for Halloween for months now. We got a magazine in the mail full of costumes and he's been picking out something new every day.

  • I've thought multiple times about what Binny will be for Halloween. I just haven't come up with anything worth it yet.

  • I've been racking my brain for a "functional" costume for my 21 month old and newborn. (Okay he'll be a month). Last year DS was a cowboy....Functional meaning the parts of the costume can be somewhat reused.  DS's costume parts (belt/holster/hat) were like $5 at US. Toy. The jeans and shirt he re-wore later as regular clothing.

(Caution my crazy mom is Elmo....our dog not pictured, was DS' horse)image

I was thinking the baby could be a Monkey and Drew could be the man in the yellow hat? Not sure.

I am so not helpful but I love your mom's costume and I'm sure the dog was equally hilarious!

  • we have been thinking about it since the day milo was born. not sure what it will come down to.
  • I had an inspiring moment and decided I wanted Max to be a garden gnome. Until I googled gnome costumes. They are pretty ugly and most have a beard. Babies in beards are weird. I think what I was picturing was him teetering around in leiderhosen and a pointy cap. So maybe he'll be an Octoberfest baby.

I've already started scoping out costumes for E at consignment stores.

  • i think thing 1 is done with costumes :(

thing 2 really doesn't understand still so I figured this will be the only year i can do an annoying matching costume with thing 3.... in the running: found a cute pebbles and bam-bam on etsy  or captain hook since i have the costume from thing 1 and tinkerbelle. or a mermaid and lobster

  • Ummm this lady with GD is dreaming about Halloween and aaaaall of the candy that comes with it!

Since our little guy will be less than a month old (hopefully), we won't go all out with a costume or probably even take him out, but I sort of love this just for pictures, since it's just basically a bib with a cape:

Chase was Yoda for his 1st Halloween and it was the funniest costume in the world. I loved it.

  • Lactate, kindly stay away from eBay then, as I'm working a seller for a sweet pair of suede Bavarian lederhosen. Hit me up post 10/31 and I may have something to sell you. you.
  • My device won't let me delete or edit, so lachute, you need to answer to lactate from here on out.

My phone autocorrects to lactate too. And I already know which ones you speak of. I promise not to Bid. There are a couple awesome pairs on etsys in the vintage section. I also go in German eBay and check there selection sometimes they ship worldwide.
  • I'll have to hit up target to see what they got in the way of costumes, so far Murphy has been a pumpkin, hot dog and a lobster.  Hopefully they have some new stuff this year.

  • Oliver has been making sheep and monkey sounds lately, so right now they're the costumes we're looking at. I think it'd be funny if he was walking around saying "baaa baaa" with a sheep outfit on.
