The emotional roller coaster has come to a complete stop - we were able to find tickets to come home that are more affordable! The second the travel itinerary hit my inbox I breathed a huge sigh of relief.
The boys and I will leave in less than a month and DH will join us after his business trip, then we'll travel home together. I'm not especially looking forward to the flight, because I'll be dealing with a 3 year old and 1 year old on my own and Owen will be sitting on my lap, but I'll do my best to be prepared and we'll survive it.
I'm thinking that I will check the flight before we go to the airport - if it is super full I will leave the Owen's carseat at home. If there is some room, I'll bring it and hope they'll let me use an empty seat for him. I figure it wouldn't hurt to try.
Re: It's official - and the news is good!
Good news! And honestly my biggest advice about the flight is this - it is only for 9 hours, or however long, and in the scheme of life that is short. Everyone on that plane was a baby once, and you will never see any of them ever again, so if Owen is not perfect, well, do your best and remind yourself that you are a good mom.
Oh, and get an ipad/dvd player, whatever, for your older son. Borrow one if you have to. It will make his flight SO much easier on you!
