Woodward Dream Cruise

Who's going this week/weekend?

I have a confession - I've never been.  I hope to go sometime this week with my FIL and his 1963 Dodge Fury.  My FIL claims it really is a "dream"...haha.

Re: Woodward Dream Cruise

  • I think this is my first "dream cruise day" ill miss out of about 12 or so years.   But we will probably get down there tonight or tomorrow in the evening just to cruise around.

Its just to hot for me to sit there from 8am-8pm with my H watching cars drive by!

  • I grew up in Royal Oak and hate the dream cruise... hahah I have been twice and will never go again , the traffic it causes is a headache for the local people.. and not to mention the crowds.. so many people!

Yes I am a negative nancy about the dream cruise weekend!!!

  • I confess that I have never been either!
  • I have only been twice.  DH is huge into cars, so he'll often go without me.  My problem with it is that it is usually very hot, which makes you want to drink water, which makes you have to pee, and there's nowhere to do that (there are porta-potties, but they seem to be miles apart).  Much more of a problem when 7 months pregnant than usual - so I won't be going this year.  Also, if he could, DH would spend 12 hours a day there, multiple days in a row and I just can't take that much looking at cars.

  • I live within walking distance to Woodward, so we will probably head down with a couple of lawn chairs and just hang out.  Not sure if we'll make the effort to go all the way down to the park.  We went last year and there were so few cars that it was kind of disappointing.

  • I've never been and really have no desire to ever go.
  • I have never "offically" been but I work on Woodward in Birmingham and the Dream Cruise weekend is a nightmare.

  • We rented spaces with my parents by the cemetery in Berkley so we'll be sitting up there all day. We rented a space last year and I actually had a lot more fun than all the prior years walking around in the crowds. I'm super excited for the license plate game again. It's amazing how many different states were represented last year.
