How long would you be willing to try and ignore/hope it goes away a suspicious lump on your toddler? It is definitely not visible just looking at it, but it is completely under the surface, pea sized and on the back of her neck just below the base of her skull. It is definitely new and not normal. If someone could tell me it was a swollen lymph node or gland back there I would feel so much better.
Re: TR: suspicious lump
When's her next well-child visit? If it's within the next couple months, I'd just wait.
Cohen had a bump exactly like you describe, except it was behind his ear. His pedi said that swollen lymph nodes can take quite awhile (like months) to go away after a child has an infection, even a small infection you're not even aware of.
Z had something very similar to what you're describing (though more on the side of her neck - not the back), and it turned out to be exactly that -- a swollen lymph node because she was fighting off some infection. I talked it over with a friend of mine who is a doctor (without taking her in). If it hadn't gone away, I'm sure I would have gone in to see the pedi within a week or so...
