Best grocery store cupcakes?
C's birthday is coming up next week and I will probably be making a cake for our family dinner this weekend. But, I'd still like to send a little treat in to daycare, I just don't want to do the work involved. Sooo, where are the best grocery store cupcakes? The only local chain I can't get to is Harris Teeter.
Re: Best grocery store cupcakes?
DS's daycare require store-bought treats (packaging must have ingredients listing) so home made isn't even an option for me. In an effort to keep them from getting a sugar high, or ticking off parents who are anti-sugar, I got mini cupcakes from Giant for his birthday in February. As long as they're covered in sprinkles, the kids are happy!
That said, if I'm eating the cake, I LOVE almost anything that comes from Wegmans bakery.
I'm usually not a big grocery store bakery fan, however the weekend I had my nieces I grabbed a couple of the $0.99 filled cupcakes from Giant and they were surprisingly light and delicious.
The mint chocolate with chocolate ganache filling was the second best - the first being the peanut butter filled, but they are probably illegal to bring to school due to allergies.
I agree!
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
Ooh thanks for this tip - I've been wondering the same thing for when DS turns two.
