Hump Day! YAY!

We are half way through the week!

I was so tired last night from our long drive and crazy weekend I just caught up on my DVR from Sunday. I also had to pick Greg up from work because his car wouldn't start:( So we really need to get that fix this week, boo..

Re: Hump Day! YAY!

  • I was crazy excited about Master Chef last night. I'm super glad that one person in particular didn't win. That being said, I somehow didn't realize it was 2 hours of Master Chef and 0 hours of Hell's Kitchen and I'm way more invested in Hell's Kitchen, so I was kinda disappointed for about 15 min.

I picked up The Hunger Games from the library on Monday and I started it last night. I'm currently halfway through and it's in my purse, just in case I have some time to read it. I'm gonna go crazy waiting for the next one to be available.

Today, my team at work is going to the track (Saratoga). I'm not one for gambling, especially on things I personally have no control over (I'll do poker, black jack, etc), but I loooooooove horses. And I'm excited because it's half a day of work and there will be awesome foods. It's going to throw my diet for a loop though.

Speaking of the diet . . . according to my scale, I've lost 2.5 lbs since Sunday morning! I'd be skeptical, but my body is fairly awesome at losing ~15lbs in 2 weeks and then holding steady for 6 weeks and then losing ~15lbs the next 2 weeks and then holding steady for 6 weeks and so on. While the 2 weeks are exciting, the 6 weeks are excruciating. Andplusalso, I fluctuate about 10lbs a day, so I make sure I weigh  Stupid body.

  • Congrats on the weight loss QoA! I am on a 5 pounds down a month plan, starting this month, and so far I'm minus four so I only need to lose one more this month with two weeks left.

Last night I babysat our nephews. The baby went down soon after I got there. The 7 year old was a hoot. He's very funny. He went to bed at 9, and I fell alseep on the couch soon after. I got home around 12:30, packed my lunch and gym bag and went to bed.

I'm exhausted today! I did not want to get up at all.

I am livid.  livid I tell you.  we always watch master chef on hulu (no tv for us!) and all of a sudden starting last night they are only allowing you to watch the last 4 episodes if you subscribe to hulu!!!  UNACCEPTABLE!  I am going to need you to give me deets on who went home, drama, etc.  also, side note, i cry a lot when people leave that show.  i am a totes loser.

tired, busy, stressed, whiny, hungry, lazy.

    sums everything up.

  • Morning.  Sleepy pants over here too.  Rolled outta bed and decided to not waste water on my body.  Not worth it.

Went to Old C's last night, drank two wonderfully delicious strawberry mojitos, had my fave nachos, watched Teen Mom (and cried when Farrah went to the gravesite) and stayed up way too late reading.  Slept poorly with bad dreams and am one crabby patty today.

Bored at work, nothing to do for at least another hour.  Online shopping, bad me.  Nothing else interesting going on.

QoA and Steph-great job on the weight loss.  I'm ballooning up at an alarming rate and don't seem to give a rat's patoot.  Any encouraging words would be appreciated...

  • I was actually kind of bummed by Master Chef; even though I was pretty sure I knew who would be the winner, I wanted the other finalist to win.  I HATE the winner, but not a fan of two of the other people who were in the top 4 so I guess I'm just sort of disappointed overall.  I thought all the food in the finale looked good, though!  (vague enough?  trying not to spoil it)

Last night I worked semi-late and was exhausted by the time I got home.  I've been really busy lately because I'm pretty much the only person left in my lab, so all the day-to-day stuff that used to be done by techs has fallen on me.  Don't get me wrong, I don't mind picking up the slack sometimes, but it sucks feeling like my whole day is swallowed up by menial tasks, so I have to work late, take a short lunch, and run around without a second to sit down in order to get my 'real' work done.  Sorry, that's whiney and sort of nonsensical.

I'm tired but in a good mood today, hopefully that lasts :)

p.s. is the offboard worth checking out?

  • Morning!  I'm all confused now... I don't know whether to post here or on the other board anymore.  Where is everybody?!

I had a lazy night last night.  (What's new?)  We had quesadillas for dinner, watched the latest episode of Weeds and went to bed early.  I've been working on a blog of all of our vacations and photos, and I'm having a hard time of it.  How do you bloggers do it??  It takes me forrrreeeeever just to write one stinkin' post.  I think I'm too critical for this...

  • Yay on the weight loss Queenie and Steph!  Keep up the good work!

Brew, I'm in your boat.  I just can't seem to get it up for weight loss lately.  I'm disgusted by the fact that my thighs rub holes in my pants in a matter of weeks, but I just can't be motivated to put down the fudgie pops, get off my arse and do something about it...  I guess at least they're WW fudgie pops?

This is one of my big reasons for losing weight. I HATE that. Especially when I have to drop $80 on jeans that look good on me OR spend the same amount to get less expensive jeans tailored so I'm not shapes. UGH. And my boobs just gigantisized for some reason (endo says its likely from switching up some of my hormone meds) and they just won't effing fit in anything!

  • Is it Friday yet?  I have a volunteer meeting tonight right after work.  It'll last until 8 pm, then off to the gym.  Last night I stayed up late watching Mad Men.  I am seriously addicted to that show!

Congrats to those with weight loss!

I am also confused about the off board thing.

  • Hey all! Wednesday. I am attempting to have a better attitude today. H actually came home at a halfway normal time (before 7) last night, so we had BLTs for dinner and ended up driving to SILs to drop off a "homecoming" stuffed animal for the nieces. Similar stuffed bunnies, one for baby and one for big sister. :) I love giving... even if it doesn't really seem appreciated at the time. Also dropped off an etching order (and got paid) as well as got some ice cream. Decent evening overall.

Spent most of the day yesterday putting random crap around the house up for sale on craigslist... hopefully most of it will go away (and make a little money too). We'll see. Anyone need a brand new set of king size white sheets? haha.

  • hey all!

Congrats on weight loss!  Yay for yummy alcoholic beverages!

I haven't joined the other board.  I tend to have a hard time keeping up with this one!

Made some dinner, took a walk last night and then took a warm bath.  It was soooo relaxing.

MIL sent me an email today which is the first time since 7/9 that we've talked.  Not sure what brought it about but whatev.

Finally done conducting interviews at work!  Thank you jesus! That's about all I know today!

  • Boo hiss, I'm back at work after two glorious days off. Even though DH took up 3/4 of the bed last night leaving me a 1/4 of it and a measley part of the sheet, I'd rather be home then at work :P My blackberry was jammed from 200 emails in two days that I was copied on and sent to while out. I've been here for 90 minutes and am slowly catching up. Hoping this day goes by quickly!

Yesterday after painting for 3.5 hours including trim, I was pooped so glad that I got my walk/run out of the way. I ran two errands, got home and vegged out. Made burgers w/fries and salad for dinner and we watched Teen Mom, DH has a crush on Farrah, lol. Not sure if Ryan really wants more time with Bentley or if she's doing that for his mom's sake. I still think Ryan is a douche as is Gary.

  • Morning!

QofA - congrats on the weight loss. I am trying to bust my ass this month for a wedding we are attending next month.

Last night I went to my parents' house for dinner, picked 4 zucchinis out of the garden, and then went to the ILs' house to do laundry. Our washing machine decided to take a crap while I was gone this weekend. Fantastic! Hoping it is just the belt and we will not need to get a new one.

Off to work now and then going to a picnic later. Have a great day!

  • Brew & Sunshine - I'm in the same boat. I'm at the biggest I've ever been and have no motivation. Or if I get the motivation, I have no time. I need more hours in the day.

Super busy morning. I had to test a middle schooler for a psychologist that I just found out about yesterday and the report is due Tuesday (thank you oh so much for the last minute notification, biotch).

And then me and J got into over the phone this morning. Big time. I don't think either of us are understanding the other. He doesn't get why I want him home/looking for a job. I think he thinks I want him to give up on the FD, not the case at all. I want him to do something so he's not bored now. He thinks I hate his family. Kinda true but I hate how they treat him. His dad/brother don't come visit us at all, didn't come see him at the hospital, only call when they want something or to see when we're coming down. Sorry the road works two ways buddy. /rant

Going to figure out my schedule for this school.

  • Misty, I don't know why this is sticking. I'm writing everything I eat down, exercising daily, and just think "this is how it is now." I want to lose 5 pounds a month but my overall long-term goal is making healthier choices and staying in motion.

That's the only way I will be able to sustain activity and good eating long-term. To make better choices all around and think about what I'm eating and drinking and doing or not doing.

I don't want to age and have health problems because of what I'm eating.

  • Rachel, don't be too self-critical. There are plenty of people out there who will criticize you, leave them to that. Read it over twice and push post. I had this problem too for months and finally just let it go.

I check both here and the off board.

  • Half way through the week. Finally. Shots for Baby Q yesterday which meant no more than 3 hours of sleep at a time for me.  Firmed up plans with my mom to watch Baby Q overnight for our anniversary.  Getting my buttocks kicked by SIL in Words with Friends.  Must pick up dinner on the way home tonight...decisions, decisions...

  • Hi ladies!  Had a great belly check this morning, and after all my 4-week interval appointments, I go next at 3 weeks, then a few 2s, then every week.  Eek!  My home scale told me this morning that I'd gained 3 lbs overnight, which would have been 5 since my last appt, and I nearly had a heart attack.  Somehow the doctor's scale showed only 2 overall, so thank the little baby jesus for that one.

H had a dentist appointment that ended right before my belly check, so he came over as well, so he could hear the heartbeat, since he hasn't heard it since our 20 week scan.

Had the weirdest thing happen yesterday - I got an email a few days ago from someone who found my old old old wedding items for sale posting, and she asked if I knew who I'd sold my Pottery Barn silk hydrangeas to, as their wedding must be over.  I was like, no, weirdo!  But then the girl I'd sold them to emailed me yesterday, saying she hadn't been able to use them after all, and could I re-send her my pictures.  Voila!  People connected.

  • Steph, I got my first pair of Paige premium jeans and I lurve them!  I am short but curvy, and these are actually awesome for me.  I got them cheapo on eBay, which I highly recommend.  (yes, this pair is maternity, but from what I've read the shape and all is the same, just the top is different)

  • Mush - huzzah for a good belly check, and I'm glad H could be there!

I love when things like that happen regarding le silk hydrangeas.

Yay for good belly checks. I was suppose to go tomorrow but had to reschedule for next week.

I am dreading when I have to go more. I really hate going to doctors and when my wait time is longer then the actual appointment annoyed.

  • Steph, I have a large azz, proportionally, and I looooove Lucky and Seven jeans.  I finally went to Lucky while they were having a BOGO 50% off event, and their salespeople were so unbelievably helpful.  Now that I know what styles fit me in both brands, I search EBay for NWT and wait for sales on sites like BlueFly and Piperlime.

  • I usually get my jeans at Old Navy, I like the flared and bootcut kind. Occassionally I will find a nice pair of Levi's that fit too. I just don't spend a ton of money on jeans.

  • Ann Taylor Loft has nice jeans and when they go on sale they are cheap. I think I paid $20, I also have target jeans. I don't spend a lot of money on jeans either. I don't wear jeans or pants often enough to spend money on them and I also get the hole in the thigh.

  • Xtine, I know what you mean.  The doctor finally came in to my 9:00 appt at about 9:45, and spent less than 5 min.  H was so annoyed that I'm not sure he was paying attention to the heartbeat.  I was like, this is a miracle, you douche, pay attention!

I found out today I also have the option of seeing the nurse practitioner, and when I've seen her before the wait was pretty small, so I've got at least one appointment with her coming up.

    image
  • As far as spending money on jeans goes, I wait to get them on sale so they're around $50.  There may be cheaper jeans out there that fit me, but I got tired of trying on so many pairs - Old Navy, Target, and AE jeans just do not fit me right.  So if I buy them, because they're cheap, I wind up not wearing them and buying more cheap ill-fitting pairs instead - it's a vicious cycle, because I keep buying jeans but never feel like I have any I like.

I now have like 5 pairs of jeans I like that I wear almost every day (except when it's super hot out) and they last much longer for me than most brands (even mid-range, like Express and Gap).  Everyone is different, I know, and it's my choice, but for me it's actually cheaper to do what I do.  I look in my closet and I see piles of AE and ON jeans that I hate on me!  Trust me, if ON jeans fit me (and didn't stretch out like a m-er f-er) I would be content to wear them and replace them as they wore out.  I also hate that they're so inconsistent with sizing, which means I can never buy them online!

    HAH!  I love it!  :-)

As far as jeans go, I also buy mine from ATL.  I like that they're not too expensive, they have a good petite selection since I'm super short, and they fit pretty nice over all. They seem to be a bit slower on the thigh blowouts too. :-)

  • I've had good luck with American Eagle and The Gap, but last Fall I went through a skinny jeans phase which I wore with longer sweaters and fell in love with Banana Republic jeans and denim leggings.  Good quality and fit me well.  I have all the pairs I bought looking like brand new still to wear again this year.
