Anyone going to Leavenworth's Oktoberfest celebration or the one at the Puyallup Fairgrounds?

We wanted to go to Leavenworth this year, but didn't get around to looking into it till yesterday and there's no lodging available (ok, there's some, but it's ~$250/night, w/min 2-night stay).
We hosted Oktoberfest a couple times, then we couldn't get it to fit in October one year and hosted Febtoberfest, which was a much bigger hit. We also hosted Jantoberfest once. I say bend the rules and spread the joyKST_:
I really want a cute German-style dress (dirndl) for our Oktoberfest party we'll be holding in October (yes yes, I know it traditionally ushers in October, but I bend the rules).
Re: Oktoberfest and ***KST***
I've been to the Leavenworth celebration in the past, but I'm not going this year. H is going to a bachelor party there though.
It's always been a lot of fun to go and it's do-able as a day trip.
If you really want to go and stay and the weather is ok you can camp near by at Icicle Creek. This is 50% of my camping experience and I've only been there once, but it was a nice spot and really close to the town.
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
We actually went inadvertently to the Leavenworth one last year! LOL. On a whim, we decided one morning to make the drive so we could enjoy all the fall colored leaves and possibly look at tracht there and I was on the hunt for a tablecloth (non-plastic) in the Bavarian diamond pattern. Lo and behold, we discovered it was the last weekend. We didn't actually go into the festival as we were driving home that night. Had no luck on the tablecloth or affordable trachten either. But I did get our new annual ornaments at one of the Christmas shops.
I didn't know they had one in Puyallup. Hmm...maybe next year since we'll be moving this September.
I held my first Oktoberfest party 5 years ago. I made up my own word and called it my Hauswarmen. I had moved to Ballard and in my brain, German and Scan kind of go together (being both the majority of my heritage, so it works). It was so much fun I've kept it up as an annual tradition. We hold it in October simply because the original one (of mine) was since it gave enough time to settle in after moving. I'm so excited that our 5th one will be in an actual HOUSE now!!
Yeah, I'll be inviting all my Nesties when we figure out what October Saturday it will be. Believe me, you don't want to miss my home-made soft pretzels!
