Why I hate First Response HPT

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d636b3127ccefdb6ab3eb9a300000040O00EZtGrlozbsQe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

Because of crap like this.

Oh an effing whim yesterday I decided to POAS.  Both lines appeared BEFORE the suggested waiting time lapsed.  However, I took a test this morning and there was only one line.  No baby in my ute   :  Sigh.  At least I am numb to the whole TTC process anymore so it wasn't a huge let down when I got the BFN this AM.  Ha!

But WTF?!?!!!

Oh and this test looks like this because I took the test apart to get a better view of the test strip.  Call me obsessive :P

  • Boo!  Those things are seriously cryptic.  Every brand I've ever tried, I still feel like I need a rocket scientist to read it for me.

  • I'm sorry you've been so down about TTC, Kathy. Trust me, I understand! I wish I had more to say than that but....nope, I got nothing! It sucks. Do you usually test each cycle? If so, any way you can make yourself stop? I think part of the reason why I don't freak out too much about all this is I never bother testing. I know I'm a weirdo though, lol. (because I don't test)
  • Sad Hugs to you!

Gosh, I really hate TTC.  It is defeating.  For the most part I don't test anymore, actually for that matter I really don't do much of anything regarding TTC anymore.  Ha.  I was convinced that this cycle was another anovulatory cycle since I just came off a round of Provera to end my anovulatory cycle three weeks ago.  I had been taking OPKs since CD 14 this cycle and they were all stark white negatives.

The only reason why I broke down and tested was because I had my CD 21 blood work done and it showed I DID ovulate.  Whoa, I couldn't believe it.  So in a moment of weakness I ran to Walmart and grabbed some HPTs thinking I ovulated on CD 13  :P

I am ready to move on with TTC.  My H has to do his SA this week (he has put it off for 8 weeks now.......since we live so far from my doctors office he has to do his business in my OB/GYNs office bathroom to meet the 1 hour testing window......ha!  Poor guy).  Then I am going to schedule surgery for laparoscopy to see if I have any scar tissue from my c-section.  Hopefully then we will know what our next steps will be.

Anything new with you regarding TTC?

How frustrating :( I can imagine how horrible an anovulatory cycle must be.

MH and I are not moving forward toward any next step until January. He isn't yet ready for us to spend the time and money and I don't blame him. He promised that come January, he will be ready to admit that we need further help. That's fine with me. I'm just trying to concentrate on other things and not think about it too much.

Hi Joanna!  I have had a few cycles with mid-cycle bleeding.  Initially I read a lot into it thinking it was maybe implantation spotting, ovulation spotting, maybe a ruptured cyst but in the end those cycles ended in non-pregnancy.  Not that I am saying that will happen to you this cycle but I wouldn't read too much into it.  Ha!  Save yourself the stress, believe me, I use to stress about everything having to do with TTC and it didn't get me anywhere :P

Anyway, good luck to you!  I am really pulling for you and I hope you get your BFP soon!

I don't blame you either for hesitating to make that leap!  The thought of spending thousands of dollars without a guarantee of success is scary! Obviously we don't know exactly what our next step would be but I have started breaking in the idea (and the price tag) to my H on what those procedures would entail.  I am not really sure how far we will be willing to go.

Best of luck to you!  I am REALLY pulling for you and I think the day that you announce you pregnancy I might get teary eyed!  Ha.  Do I sound creepy?  I hope not, but I really do wish you the best!

    Aw, I appreciate it!!!

  • Kathy, I am so sorry. I can only imagine how frustrating all of this is. I continue to check on Bloomin Babies for any updates, but I completely understand your hiatus at this point.
