What's in season right now?
I'm debating on going to the farmers market later today (the Springfield one) but what's the best fuit/veggie in season right now?
It's been almost a month since I've gone to the farmers market. Lately I've been getting peaches from the grocery store.
Re: What's in season right now?
With fruits you should see figs, raspberries, peaches, melons, plums, apricots, early apples, and some late blackberries.
For veggies, ditto Kastle and I would add cucumbers, squash (both summer and winter), string beans, as well as herbs, and some heat tolerant greens.
tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers of all kinds, string beans, watermelon and honeydew, kale, peaches. Almost all of those are in my garden right now. I have to go fool with the eggplant flowers to try to get some more fruit out of them.
