Unfortunately, between me and the other person, they picked the other person. The principal did tell me though that it was the hardest decision he's had to make in 28 years as a principal, and that if he has another position open he will call me right away. So, that's nice, but it still hurts to be "not good enough" if you know what I mean.
Anyways, I was bummed, and I had a hair appointment, so I took the opportunity to cut about 10 inches off to donate! My head feels so much lighter and I think I needed the change to feel better. I will PIP later when I find my camera.
Thanks for all your vibes, and I know I'll find something. Maybe subbing for a year will help me be a better teacher when I get my own class.
Re: Sooo....no job :-(
Oh, Jen, I am sorry to hear this! Stay positive, something will work out for you. Are you going to try to sub? It could be a great way to make some connections and see both the good and the bad that other teachers do!
Post pics of your new hair when you get a chance. I have a haircut tomorrow, but I will not be taking off 10 inches, maybe 3 or 4 tops!
Ugh, I'm sorry. I know hoe frustrating it can be not having a teaching job. Keep looking, and try to get your foot in the door at a few districts as much as possible. Something will turn up eventually.
I'm excited to see your hair!!
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
Uggh...The interviewing process for teaching can be so frustrating. Best of luck in your continued search. And you're right about subbing. There is a lot you can learn about classroom management/organization from subbing. If you put yourself out there, you're also bound to get a few long term subbing jobs, which could lead to some good connections. Don't give up and know that you're not the only one that has had that kind of luck with finding a teaching job.
I bet your new cut feels great! Definitely post before/after pictures!
