Applying Questions
I found the perfect position for my qualifications and skills sets. Plus it is in the industry I currently work part time in but want to get full time into. The website states that I need to apply through their website (make the necessary log in and such). Well I just did this process however I noticed on their website the person the position works directly under is listed with email address.
My questions is it too much to send my cover letter and resume directly to he/she too?

Not at all. I did this all the time when I was applying for jobs and had better luck getting responses that way. I would send a short email saying, "I've applied online as directed, but wanted to reach out to you directly to convey my sincere interest in the position. I believe I bring a set of skills to the company you won't find elsewhere. Please see attached my cover letter and resume, etc, etc, etc,"

For my current job, I applied through the website AND sent my resume/cover letter to the recruiter's email. I got their attention and the job so I'd say definitely do both!
