how does your company handle name changes?
My network login is my name, but they use your name when you start - and of course mine, and like 50% of the other women here have either gotten married or divorced and had a name change, but out network IDs never change. They change your email address and keep the old name as an alias, but in some systems, I still have my maiden name. I find it soooo annoying, but on the other hand, I'm not sure it makes sense to update 200 different systems either.

The company I worked for at the time of my wedding changed everything - email address, network ID, name in the company phone directory, etc. For a short time my original email address existed and email was forwarded, but eventually they did away with it altogether.
I don't think it would have annoyed me to have something linger, though. It's a PITA to change everything in every location, and as long as my husband and I know my name, that's all I care about. I don't get annoyed if folks incorrectly address my mail, either. It's hard. I kept my maiden, added my husband's, and don't have a hyphen - so people get all kinds of confused. Same thing, though. All I care about is that my husband and I know what my name is. Others can call me Mrs. K (just the married portion of my name). I'll still answer to it
