Where can I get a great pedicure?

I love my pedicure lady but she started teaching at a local beauty school and has scaled back her hours so much that I can never get an appointment at a convenient time anymore. So... I'm looking for a new place for a pedicure.

It needs to be very very clean, and have people who actually put some muscle into scrubbing your feet. I'm in Richmond but for a truly good pedicure, I'm willing to go as far south as Oakland, out to the Lafayette/Walnut Creek area, or across the bridge to some parts of Marin.

Any suggestions?

    Sorry, I'm pretty useless in that dept. It was dead over the wknd so hopefully you'll get some suggs tomorrow.

    Have you tried Yelp? I've been really lucky and found both my hairstylist and my waxer through there. Stick to the really high ratings (and lots of them) and you should be fine. Good luck!!

    Yeah I have. One of the highly rated places I thought was just "meh." Another I'd like to try, though they're pretty pricey and I've tried five times this week to make an appointment using their online system and it didn't work... So I'm looking for some recommendations from humans I know  :)

    i Just got a great pedicure at this place on Piedmont ave called Aveida nail spa or something like that. I was shocked how nice it came out. Have even gotten compliments on it. Don't know the name of the person that did it. They were clean too, the foot bath was lined with a plastic bag. Not very eco but made me feel a little better. The Pedi was $25 and they were running a special for a $5 mani if you got the pedi so it was $30 total. Not sure how long that will last.
