DC Hotel/Restaurant Rec for Anniversary
DH and I want this anniversary to be really special, especially given my health crisis of the last year. So, we are talking about getting a hotel for the night and eating downtown. While "budget" is not unlimited, we are flexible. I am thinking Georgetown, but am open. Recs?
Re: DC Hotel/Restaurant Rec for Anniversary
Fun! If you want to stay and eat at the same place, I'd do the Mandarin Oriental and Cityzen.
Not in DC, but another option that might be fun is Restaurant Eve in Old Town and a room at the Monaco - which is 10 steps away.
i'd stay at the kimpton palomar in dupont circle. definitely tell them it's your anniversary. my bff stayed there on her birthday and they had a bottle of champagne sent to her room. and it's just a great hotel.
some of our favorite restaurants are: brasserie beck, zaytinya, oyamel, cava, acqua al 2, bar pilar, and central by michel richard. i'm sad that hook had a fire because that was another favorite. maybe grab sunset drinks at POV or the bar at donovan house hotel?
haven't been but we're going to blue duck tavern for our anniversary next month.
you guys definitely deserve for this year's celebration to be extra special!
I had a great meal at Marcels in Foggy Bottom last month.
Also love Cava. I have heard great things about Cityzen but haven't gone there yet. We are trying Oval Room on Friday night, so I can report back and let you know if it's good.
This is a great recommendation too, but unless you really want to splurge, I'd have dinner here an stay at the B&B down the street. The last time I checked, rooms were 800/night on the weekend with a 2 night minimum.
We are doing that in a few months with some friends, otherwise that would be on the top of the list!
