Finally the Nest is BACK! Talk about a relief! haha
So I was talking on FB with Lisa about our G2g (finally bought my bus tix, whoohooo!) and I was wondering if we had settled on any places.
I think most of us who are coming in on Saturday are getting in around 2:45-3PM so I figure after we settle into our hotels we can either grab an early dinner and then find a place for drinks afterwards or we can wander a bit and then have dinner. I was checking Yelp (because I am bored at work) and I found a couple of places for a potential dinner on Saturday. I'm not sure where the rest of you girls are staying but myself, Lisa, Danielle & Elizabeth are staying in Times Square.
Most of these places are close to where we are staying at but are also accessible by public transportation. I know Laura had some suggestions but I'd figure I'd throw some out there:
1. Tia Poli - Chelsea - Tapas Bar - Yelp Reviews - Menu
2. Room Service - Chelsea - Thai - Yelp Reviews - Menu
3. Ipuddo NY - East Village - Japanese Brasserie - Yelp Reviews - Menu
4. Trattoria Trecolori - Theatre District/Midtown West - Italian - Yelp Reviews - Menu
I also found a couple of places for potential brunch for all of us on Sunday. When I was talking with Lisa we both said that it might be cool to wander to Chelsea Market after brunch and these places are nearby
1. Aurora Soho - South Village - Yelp Reviews - Menu
2. Jane - South Village/Greenwich Village - Yelp Reviews - Menu
Again, suggestions welcome! I'm currently stalking my friend's Yelp page that lives in NYC for her favorite places as well but I just wanted to get the gears going since our G2G is ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: G2G Update
I don't care where we eat as long as it's not all spicy food (which is the misconception I have of Thai food).
I really just wanted to say
SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!! 1 month!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!

Dude I votes for tapas at Tia Polo, dessert (tiramisu!!) at Trattoria Trecolori and I can't pick brunch because they both sound amazing! Dang this is making me hungry :-( 53 minutes to go . . .
I think whatever is decided will be amazing because there are so many options!

I'm fairly open as to itinerary! ...my only "mini" suggestion is that if we could possibly visit Central Park, it would be awesome :-)
As for the grub? I'm sure I'll find something I like most anywhere!
Il Bastardo was my pick for brunch. They said I could make a reservation with such a large group I think that is going to be VERY important since most restaurants in NYC are insanely small (this one is on the larger size)

Its in Chelsea then I thought we could check out the Highline http://www.thehighline.org/ (cool park built on some old train rails and raised above the city. We could also hit up shopping on 5th ave (not the REALLY fancy one more chain stores) then Madison square park and maybe some shake shack for lunch (amazing burgers and fries and of course SHAKES)
Also I'm totally into the Tapas place!! I've never been but it sounds awesome.
My main request is to stay away from the theatre district/midtown if possible. Its SO crazy there and actually way more expensive cause its where the tourists (no offense) go and the people there feel they can take advantage (which is unfair)
I think Central Park would be a great stop before dinner on Saturday! I love Central Park

Woo Hoo!!! Did I say already that I can't wait???
Woo Hoo!!! Did I say already that I can't wait???
I know I'm quoting myself BUT I just checked and the tapas place is REALLY easy to get to from Central Park - Just take the C train and it goes straight there. it's less than a 1/2 mile to the train station.
Stacy - Was there a specific park of central park you wanted to see?

WOW only one month away!!! YAY!
I'm up for anything on Sunday, but Laurie has made a good point about find a place to accommodate our big group for brunch. I will eat ANYTHING so I'm easy to please. I just can't wait to meet you gals in person!
And, let's hope for a nice sunny day so we can walk around and enjoy the city!
Laura the highline looks really cool! It sounds like most of the brunch spots are similar, and accomodating our large group is definitely the obstacle to be concerned with. It doesn't make a difference to me as long as we're together!
All together now, "AWWWWW!!!" :-D

haha I love the highline Hubby was in this wedding for our friends (I was the planner) and they took their pics up on the highline
I agree with the bolded...IL Bastardo looks yummy...and they have mimosa's, so that's a winner in my book! Can't believe it's only a month away! Let the gab fest commence

According to Yelp all 3 brunch places are "Good For Groups" (I made sure to select that option when searching for places, haha but I'm totally up for everything.
I believe Aurora has a $15 brunch deal that includes a main course AND a mimosa which is very exciting.
And us non pg ladies will just have to drink the drinks the pg WOULD have had if they were not pregnant. teehee

Yay!! Lauri: Your idea sounds fabulous!!! I love it!!
Mandah: No particular place, but hopefully someplace pretty where we can a take some great pics and enjoy nature a bit (even if in the middle of NYC!)
OMG - Ladies!!!!! It's almost here :-))
I'm partial to the 80's and below - The Boathouse, The Lake, Shakespeare garden, Delecorte theatre, Belvedere Castle, BethesdaTerrace (fountain), Strawberry Fields, Alice in wonderland and the zoo are there too but on the east side. YAY
I am so bummed. Couldn't find air fare reasonable enough for the day; Priceline got me down to just under $200 but they choose the times for me & I wouldn't find out until I got my ticket. I didn't want to chance them flying me to NY at 10 am and back to Detroit at 1 pm so I had to pass it up - gambling was never much in my favor. I'll be living vicariously thru your pictures!!!
