What is your all time favorite cookie?

I have been baking a lot of cookies for a small party we're having this weekend, and I am curious what is your favorite kind?

So far I have made the chocolate chip recipe that comes on the bag of Nestle chips, and then that exact recipe but with white chocolate chips and craisens.

My all time favorite is probably soft sugar cookies though. What's yours?

Re: What is your all time favorite cookie?

  • Probably peanut butter, but I love all cookies except oatmeal.
  • 101 Cookbook's vegan peanut butter. SO yum. :)
  • mexican wedding cakes (but very few recipes get it right so I usually only have them if I've made them myself)
  • Warm oatmeal chocolate chip. I am not really a dessert/sweet person though Embarrassed

  • I make the world's greatest chewy white-chocolate cranberry cookies. They are so good that I only make them once a year!
  • I really like my recipe for oatmeal chocolate chip walnut cookies. And I once had an amazing cookie (which I've been meaning to try and recreate) that had sort of a sugar cookie/snickerdoodle type dough, candied or regular orange zest, dried cranberries or possibly currants. It was so good.

  • My mom's oatmeal cookies. They are THE BEST oatmeal cookies and she's super secretive about the recipe. She also makes amazing chocolate chip cookies but that recipe isn't so secret.

  • I love a good molasses cookie.  That chewy texture, the sugar on top ... ooooh.

Unfortunately, it's another cookie that very few people get right, so I don't eat them very often.  If I'm going for a cookie that I'm 98% sure I will like, I get oatmeal raisin.

  • I'm definitely a chocolate chip cookie kind of girl. It'll always be my first choice.

  • Chocolate chip for sure.

Close second are my Grandpa's oatmeal, molasses, choc. chip and raisin cookies.

Yes! Molasses are my favorite, too. They are hard to get just right though. I also really love butter cookies and snickerdoodles. Really the only cookies I don't like are oatmeal raisin. I like oatmeal but I don't like raisins cooked in stuff.
  • I am a sucker for choc chip, but I also love chewy chocolate cookies and peanut butter.

  • Oh I forgot I love Russian tea cakes/Mexican wedding cookies. Anyone know if these are exactly the same or just very similar? I wonder why they have two different names.

They are similar and I like them a lot, too. I've noticed sometimes there's a lemony quality to them and sometimes more nuts in them. Macaroons are another favorite of mine. Cookies are good stuff! Big Smile
  • A tie between these coconut things dipped in chocolate that I made once and forgotten cookies (meringue cookies).
